Do you suppose there are slave Sugar Mommas?

I want one.

I think I'd like a sugar family.  Then I could really live in the style to which I'd like to become accustomed.

Absolutely!  Peon, start working on that!!

As regards the OP, people form attractions, then bonds.  I have friends with great age differences between them and their partners, and it works just fine for them.  Me, I would never consider someone young enough to be my child as a potential, but that's ME.  I usually am with men 15 years *older* than myself, it's only recently I started looking at my own age group.

Would the sugar family be friends with the ginger bread man?

Venatrix -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/25/2008 1:08:10 PM)

And the candy man.  But what do we do when it rains?  Mass murder!

sleuthingsub -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/25/2008 1:20:19 PM)

That should be part of the stories about the ginger bread man.  Gotta teach those kids about the real world ya know.

Lol, love your answer Venatrix!
Having been treated as a paycheck in a vanilla marriage toward the end, gotta say, being a sugar mommie to anyone, as a theoretical, puts my teeth on edge.  That having been said, I am always willing to put any and all of my financial backing (Be it ever so humble) behind my partner(s) and my people.

But what about the age difference? Not that I'm looking for problems, but you know, I just couldn't resist.. LaTigresse and Venatrix together in the same place? Now that IS a lifestyle I could very easily become accustomed to.

MsStarlett -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/25/2008 4:11:03 PM)

Yep.  I think Venatrix has the idea going on.  I need a brace of hot young studs who work in IT and can support me in every imaginable way.

MadameMarque -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/27/2008 5:53:59 AM)

If you want to know how this post reads to other people, try this on for size:
"That Cat person you're seeing - uh, what is the attraction?  Loneliness?  Desperation?  She paying you?"

As for the 'age difference = Mommy complex,' armchair psychology...ughh.  It reminds me of people's simplistic theories about why people are into BDSM - we hate ourselves, we hate each other...

I'll be over at the "What made you roll your eyes, today?" thread.

"If his love is to be called perverse, then let it be so, for maybe love is too great to be normal, too intense to be sane."

Stella, you are welcome in my little corner of the world any day.

AlexandraLynch -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/28/2008 12:43:34 AM)

My husband and co-dominant is 47 in a week or so, in a few weeks I will be 37, and next May our Boy will be 33. It's all in how the personalities click, though when I was looking I did look for someone who was more likely to be able to help with the more physical aspects of keeping house.

tornaway -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/28/2008 8:16:32 AM)

It's always been my understanding of the term "sugar"  Daddies or Mommies , that it covers those that are willing and able to "keep" someone ( who is usually younger , but not always ) and support them fully , in exchange for whatever "favors" are agreed upon .   Those can be for appearance only ,  actual sexual exchange , or even platonic business arrangements .

Sounds like you're attempting to categorize and simplify all the many reasons there are for age gaps in relationships .   If you look carefully - and keep your mind open - there are as many reasons as there are connections .

Often it's the simple "mind over matter theory"  -  if ya don't mind - it don't matter !

I never said it did, I am merely looking for perspectives, no different than asking for opinions on facesitting.

Actually, it's significantly different.  Most people don't ask for opinions about facesitting by framing it automatically in the negative.  Talking about age-difference relationships by saying "What's the attraction?  Loneliness?  Desperation?" is about as socially skilled and tactful as saying, "Face-sitting--what's the attraction?  Do you just have a penis the size of a vienna sausage, or is it that your face is so freaking ugly that your domme would do ANYTHING rather than look at it?"

[:'(]  Whatever.  There are a lot of qualities that are attractive in a younger man.  His physical assets are lovely, of course, and so is the supply of energy he has at his command.  The fact that he's a member of a different generation actually makes him quite stimulating company as well; he actually has knowledge of things which I do not, and I find that every bit as attractive in a younger man as I do in an older man.

*shrug*  The attraction between people of different ages is no different than the attraction between people of different races, social classses, or nationalities.  When you care for someone, the things which make him different from you are not necessarily negatives.  Even if you don't find those exotic qualities attractive at first--and some people are flat-out turned on by age differences in and of themselves, just as they can be turned on by a different racial type or a foreign accent--you can learn to treasure his exotic qualities over time.  Why say no to an opportunity to grow?  [;)]

Reminds me, Shakti: a certain young man said something the other day that was slightly at variance with a little detail on your profile.  Perhaps an oversight on your part regards updating it?

Not that I'm being critical.  As Oscar Wilde once said, "I never trust a woman who tells the truth about her age.  It looks so calculating." [;)]

You know, I'd rather tell the truth about my age.  I'd rather have people saying "Wow!  You look good for 47."  instead of "29?  Damn, Girl!  You've been rode hard and put up wet."

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Sugar Mummies (11/29/2008 10:34:08 AM)

Well, part of the problem is that this site does not automatically update your age, the way alt.com does!

Yes, just noticed that and fixed it. It never occurred to me that the site wouldn't recognize the passage of time and update my age for me. Tiresome that, although I'm not really sure why it's a big deal that my profile said I was 37 when I was actually *gasp!* 38. Would shaving a year off my profile REALLY make a huge difference to people who want to have sex-ay photos taken of themselves?

Yes.  At 37, you can be sexy and that's fine.  At 38, it's unseemly and you should have retired from sex altogether and taken up wearing stout underwear, knitting and evening classes in oriental cookery.

Well, you did ask.
