I've been banned twice. It is NO big deal, trust me. I got banned because I don't put up with fools messaging me with their bullshit. They don't like it, I don't care. Don't even think about it. The way I see it, it's a badge of honor.

The message I received from CM said

"The profile posted to this account has been removed and profile/journal editing functions have been disabled for 24 hours. This action has been taken by our automated reporting system due to numerous reports regarding your profile."

So it sounds like a human never even see's the report.

Yes, you are banned automatically, but when you contact them directly, they are real folks.  Try it.

Yes it is automated. Have had it happen to me and to the profile for my slave. It happened all because a guy was blocked from my slave's account, then harassed me on mine and so I blocked him too. After both our profiles got blocked I contacted the support and asked them about it. Have not had any problems since.

I did ask the mods to look over my profile and see if there was anything wrong with it, they agreed it was fine and I haven't been banned again since.

Definitely not manually reviewed or a predetermined number would have been caught by spell-check. ;)

had it happen to me at another site after i broke off contact with another individual.  he even went so far as to stalk me in the forums, posting contrary remarks and lewd comments.  like your "friend" he would make a new profile and keep harassing me.  i kept all his emails and made a note of his postings and took it to the site admins, got him banned by his isp.  best advice, document everything and take it to those in charge.

I thought that they could tell in you had a account under more than one name. When I was in chat they could.

Chat is a different "animal" than the profiles.  In chat you can often tell if someone has multiple IDs because they will share the same IP address.  Problem with this is it only works with fixed IPs... people on dialup accounts have dynamic IPs which change everytime they log in.  This means its impossible for the site owners to control profiles based on IPs, though they could set up a search bot to help identify them (most people use cable or DSL access which is not dynamic, which means they could catch probably 70% of these multiple accounts with a simple search bot).  Same could be tied into the complaint reporting function... store IPs with complaints and discard complaints from the same IP... again that would probably eliminate at least 70% of the "false positive" results with the automated bans.
