Friday, 28 November 2009, is the deadline the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set to received comments from the public regarding whether to regulate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in this country. The US Supreme Court has ruled that the EPA does have the authority to make such regulations so they are receiving public comment before making their decision.

I received a link from the Repower America "WE Campaign" in my email this morning that makes the process of submitting a comment to the EPA easy. Using their form will sign you up for their email campaign so I wanted you to be aware of that before you decide to use it. While I sent my comment via the WE Campaign, I'm sure there is a link on the EPA's site that allows you to do the same; I just haven't been able to find it quickly given the amount of time I have to spend right now. Here's the WE Campaign's link:

http://www.wecansolveit.org/page/m2/396e8904/6ff805e8/806395b/19ba55b8/1641614577/VEsD/

On the WE Campaign form they have pre-filled the comment. You do NOT need to send that comment; I urge you to put whatever comment you want to make in its place.

So, whether you agree with the mission of the WE Campaign or not... whether you believe the EPA should be regulating CO2 emissions or not... please take a moment and make your opinion known to the EPA.

That is, if you care about the issue.

Thanks for reading. Please be well.

Here is the deal. When you burn something, anything, the best thing is to burn it completely. If the fuel is pure hydrocarbons perfect combustion results in two things, CO2 and water vapor or steam.

Ultimately that means there is only one real solution that will not further cripple us. Electricity.

For this to work there are requirements.

One we need a way to generate alot of electricity without producing CO2. That is paramount.

Two we need a viable way to make much more extensive use of electricity, which means alot more electric cars on the road and alot more all electric homes as well as industry. For this to happen the electricity must be cheap, or it will further cripple us just as any of the other incorrect solutions that may be imposed.

Three this is going to necessitate some changes to the infrastructure, which will not be free. We are talking beefing up the entire electrical distribution system and upgrading wiring in homes and factories. As the power gets there then the huge gas pipes are removed.

Who shall pay for this ? I say nobody, get out of it and concentrate on the matter at hand. Blast regulations, we are in trouble. Get the economy going first, then we can deal with the environment.

That's my opinion.

CO2 comes from people breathing.  So if people breathe less, or if we have fewer people breathing, CO2 emissions will be reduced correspondingly.

Building on that, and observing the amount of pointless blather produced by lawyers, if we eliminate the breathing of all members of the legal profession, we should easily reach whatever CO2 emissions goals the EPA might have set for us.

Guess Dick the Butcher was right.  Let's kill all the lawyers.

It think the EPA should rule that half the population be killed...not my half, and cut CO2 emmissions immediately.  The EPA has gone bizerk...and is in the tank for the hot air sect that sees everything combustible as killing the planet.  We are on the brink of a possible major recession that could just as easily lead to a depression if the government continues its stupidity with respect to energy....In ten years, in the lifetime of everyone on CM today, fossil fuels will still be powering the planet, but the USA will have been turned into a third rate country with "windmills"and looking like Holland paved over with cement.  In the meantime, China, India, France, Australia and dozens of other countries will have developed numerous nuclear facilities and coal burning generation....whille we aer waiting for the wind to come up again.
