I am no mere mortal, I am man ruled not by reason but by beast. I am a shadow from the depths of time elemental, from the darkest of shadows untouched by the midday sun; I am that which inspires nightmares. I am from that darkest recess of your mind where cravings go undisturbed by conscious thought, grey ghosts of unspeakable things too dark to haunt your fantasies. A shadow where your mind goes when the need is overwhelming but the craving cannot be satiated. The mere imagining of their existence sends you into a frenzy, extinguishing all else until you fade back to safe daylight.
Many claim darkness as their cloak, it is my very flesh. Your screams incite me, your fear feeds me, your agony engorges me, your terror is my release, your blood my only wine. I seek not victims, nor partners, but the soul that I have chased through the centuries. All others are but sustenance on my journey, vessels to drink from, to be tossed aside empty and drained.
Most will mock these words, unknowing or afraid, or bitter from long experience with charlatans and lesser men. Do not forget, Men have always proclaimed that things are impossible, till one man does the impossible. I am not unique in my dark cravings, but my abilities surpass so many, my presence is unlike any other, my words are not empty but are matched by deed and action, wit and intellect, depravity and skill.
So know this. I am seeking you and I will find you. I am in no hurry, fate is on my side. Watch me, study me, and you will come to know the truth, you will feel it in those dark places as those grey ghosts take form urging you to one task, to one goal.
