Still plenty of those, Macy's comes to mind, Nordstroms, sure there are others.

Ok... after saying that, Anyone wanna make a run?  I need a birthday card, razors, birdfeed, a head of cabbage, a new shirt, a picture frame, speakers for my computer, and I need to get my film developed... Seriously... Where else can you find all of that in one store?!?!?  lol

Um...Target?

Hate it.  The clothes are cheap in price, cheap in quality - I can get much nicer, *much* better clothes on Ebay for about the same amount that are great quality.  The grocery prices are about 1-5 cents less per item than the other stores around here, *but* when the other grocery stores have sales they really have sales - not just .25 cents off an item but 50% off - if you really want cheap groceries check out The Grocery Game - www.grocerygame.com or Angel Food Ministries - http://www.angelfoodministries.com/.  Same thing with CVS, Walgreens - heck, CVS gives stuff away often just to get you in the door.  You have to be disciplined and not buy other stuff when you are there though.

They don't sell the food our cats eat; we have to go to the feed store for that.  Actually I am thinking of joining Costco, debating whether the joining price is worth the food and litter savings I would get (keep in mind I run a cat rescue and have unusual numbers of cats).

A necessary evil is what i'de call Wal`Mart. I don't particularly like shopping there, but sometimes its the only game in town. Its convenience and ease to find things make it ideal in some cases. If I can avoid it, I do.. but often times its unavoidable.

i have no real choice. The grocery prices at Walmart are the best in town, and the produce/meats are the best quality. As others have said...it is a necessary evil.

After watching The High Cost of WalMart, I won't shop there. I recommend everyone watch that. I haven't been to a WalMart in years and don't plan to.

Wal-Mart is the biggest fish in the pond and easily hated but, I don't begrudge them their success but refuse to walk in one unless I am drug in kicking and screaming.
When they were smaller and were all about buying American and selling American I admired them and would gladly shop the stores.
I have seen them in action with suppliers in China and a few suppliers here in the States and they will kill a company they do business with faster than any other company in the world. Sears, at one point was the same way. The terms they purchase on are predatory and I have little clue as to why anyone would sell them but, people line up to do business with them.Int ime they will fall under their own weight as most big retailers have, they just haven't been around as long as those that are struggling but, it will happen.

I like my Walmart, but Meier is closer and easier to get to, so that is where I usually go.

It's ok. Not great for stores around it, but what are you going to do. It's good for when I need stuff late at night, like when C and I were hella sick out of town, and I made a walmart run for meds.

People cry and moan about them selling chinese imports, well.... you do realize that EVERYONE sells stuff from China. Jeeze.

jeez its mutts like You that made it that way jeez be true to country You live in

O.o Did you just call me a mutt?

Well.... okie I am a whole bunch of nationalities, but still has nothing to do with where I shop. :P
