Marc, you only mutilate four of them, but then this guy might not have known that. jan, a real gambler doesn't use luck. I never heard of that aversion, but if it exists I appreciate being made aware of it. The olman is somewhat of a money collector. He knows they ain't worth squat but he has books of state quarters and all that, also he tries to have a thousand dollars in every demination. Hundreds were easy, twenties were easy, tens he got licked, fives he is not quite there and in ones he might have about eight hundred. Now you know the reason for the safe. He also wants to have a thousand in quarters for someone he has to pay he really ,,,,, I mean not happy with if you know what I mean. Either that or he will use the ones. Imagine getting paid a thousand dollars in ones, that is one thousand pieces of paper with no strapping together, no bag or anything in which to carry it. Now figure it is a windy day outside. :-) Don't fuck with those old people, they have had plenty of time to think about this shit. Maybe I should mention that to him, try to get a thousand in two dollar bills. That would probably keep him alive for quite some time. On the other hand maybe I should give it some thought .......... lol. Actually the 125 combination is used quite a bit, like on controls of test equipment. it goes .1, .2, .5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and so forth. Strangely though, the two dollar bill just doesn't seem to be needed. Twenties come in handy though, which is probably why someone I know went away for getting a lithograph or whatever you call it and printing $300,000 worth of them. Now if you can get you hands on some of the old ones, especially the silver certificates you have something. See we knew someone who's job was to count money. She ran across such bills from time to time. We made sure she always had bills of every denomination to replace those "obsolete" ones. Come on now, we were doing a public service :-) The books came out right. We saved those notes from certain destruction because of what they say "redeemable in lawful money". They destroy them on sight. Save them from certain extinction. How could we just stand by and watch this happen ? :-) T
