We are getting to host the little friends Christmas Dinner in a few weeks. This is Fox and my second Christmas together, the first he is living with me. We have our tree, our Christmas Socks (I was aised jewish so all the novelty of the holiday decorating is still there for me bigtime.) and we will be getting to hang lights in the wintdow for the dinner day. We have shopping planned, however being that we both work retail it will take a very long time to get it all done. Except, of course, the parts we are doing at our respective stores. Gotta love discounts.

We have plans to meet a few new people in the Nashville area whom we have started talking to on here and on Fetlife. We have a few major photo shoots planned, including one vanilla one for cards and family pictures and the like.

Things are proving interesting. On the personal health front, I am on some new medication and so perhaps this particular combination of medications and physical therapies and lifestyle adjustments will give me both relief and a much more normal life. Winter is always hard with a rheumatic condition, but this year I have done a lot of mental work on the self-esteem issues I was gifted with in my youth, and insist on my socks and slippers and gloves and it really is helping me. I also embraced my size and my shape, and while it's not a perfect confidence (this culture is an unkind one), it's a lot better than the alternative.

I just finished repainting the whole inside of the house in COLOR! I finally said, "I get enough white in the winter. I want to live with color all around me!" and so went with golds and greens and deep reds and a very lovely Adriatic turquoise blue here in my office. As the weather settles into the monochrome palette of winter here, I am appreciating it a lot.  I have not put up the Yule tree yet or decorated the altar or the shrine, partly because I need to buy a new garland for the shrine; the old one has gone to be recycled, and partly because I just finished the painting of the front room where the tree goes, and insist on getting all the issues with where things go sorted before I pull out the tree and the ornaments and stuff. It's not that large a house, and clutter happens fast.

In  BDSM, well, this is the year where I acknowledged this is what I am and this is what I do. So assembling gear and all has been where some money has been going. We've been attending local munches and I've been on here, listening and opinionating. Also here, we've made contact with a young man who we fit with intellectually and, we discovered this weekend, in play and sexually and in terms of friendship as well. Where this is going....well, that's a premature discussion at this point. We're all interested in an LTR, so now is when we start building the groundwork for one with friendship and passion. He is going to visit in December for the local munch, and we're still figuring out if he is going to family or not at Christmas.

In other news, our elderly cat is getting more frail. She still dines with hearty enthusiasm and is her usual Siamese self in asking for affection or informing us that it is breakfast time, and still makes great balletic leaps, though perhaps not as great as they once were, so it is not time for the final car ride. But I do notice the changes, and start preparing to let go when the time comes.

nothing too amazing to report, my birthday is mid december, (maybe that'll cut back on the "you're really __insert whatever adjective__ for your age" comments by maybe just a little lol) i'm quickly becoming tired of promises that i'll see snow by the weather man and not getting it.  as far as wrapping up last month goes, notably i had two strange requests from members of cm fairly recently, the more unusual being to "not send cock pictures out to any mistresses, yet" haha; not sure what sparked that assumption, i can only promise "i shall try to cut back". [:D]

My b-day is the 31st.  Everyone raise a glass of whatever while you're celebrating New Year's Eve and wish me happy!  [;)]

Hopefully this month I can start putting out feelers for a local community in GA and my attempts will be successful. We'll see.

I don't know where you're headed in GA, but it's right up My alley!  There's some good folks here, so if I can help in any way, just drop Me a line on the other side.

I wanted to wish everyone with December birthdays best wishes, even those who reluctantly mentioned theirs.  Happy Birthday in advance to each of you and many happy returns.

Thanks to everyone posting the updates in their lives.  I love the roll calls!

Just another day closer to the hubby being home for a while......

Dnomyar -> RE: December Roll Call! (12/3/2008 11:01:59 AM)

My birthday was yesterday. December is always a very busy month for me. Have 4 more work days then will be on the road until the first week in Jan. I spend time with my daughter and son. As for the rest of the family if they can't get off of their butts to come see me then no loss. I have'nt had a christmas tree up in several years. Just never home at that time of year since my kids moved out. They are always complaining that I never stay home. I have to many places to go and see and not very much time to do it all. Time to live my life.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: December Roll Call! (12/3/2008 11:38:23 AM)

it has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride for me. at the moment my oldest is still in the hospital but is getting better ...waiting patiently for doctors to say she can come home is nervewrecking.

in other news, on the 23rd - it's my pet's birthday! as a special surprise, i'll be collaring him with a choker that i'm making (wish me luck on this project). i'm going to use hemp cords and beads ...plus i have enough materials to make a matching one for myself.  keeping my fingers crossed that plans for the holidays happen - both of us have been busy with work.

LadyBanedeFaol -> RE: December Roll Call! (12/3/2008 4:39:03 PM)

I've been around the boards for a while just havent posted but this is a nice place to start it seems like. November was a really quiet month for our house. December has started with a bang but we have all our christmas shopping done. The tree is up. The gifts wrapped and under the tree so now we can relax til the big day.

ItalianSMistress -> RE: December Roll Call! (12/4/2008 6:24:29 AM)

Wow, I can not believe that 2008 is almost over.......I am glad it is though, my UM's both had a rough year.  As those of you that remember me know, my ex wife died in March, so this will be my daughters first Christmas without her birth mother there, I know that might be rough.  I kinda disappeared after that death, it was hard to recover from, and then in the summer, we had another tragic hit.  My son's best friend since birth was kidnapped by his mother.  There were close family friends of ours for over a decade.  We are still actively looking for him, and the courts are FINALLY giving some back up, it happened July 22, and it took til now to get them to move on it.  So, I also know this will be a hard Christmas for my son, as these people usually spend all the holidays with us (that and the fact that he still asks when he is coming home on almost a daily basis).  So, I decided that I was spending Christmas alone with my UM's, so they are not overwhelmed and can do as they feel.  I also decided to stay home New Years with them this year, I feel they need the closeness.  I had to post on my facebook and tell my peeks there will be NO HOUSE PARTY this year,  instead of playing poker with the gang, I will be playing Wii games with the UM’s,  LOL

I am doing a tad better now, but this year was one of the roughest my family has seen, so I am not sad to say good bye to 2008, thats for sure.  I am hoping better things for 2009!  I hope you all have a great Holiday Season (no matter which holiday you celebrate), and all the best for the New Year.  I am almost done Christmas shopping, everything is even wrapped and under the tree!  Just a few little things left to do.  Being Catholic we mostly focus on the religious aspects of the season, but I still like to spoil my UM’s a little.

I think I am gonna change profiles after the New Year as well, I need to change the name on this one, I fkn hate it, er.
