Has anyone here ever done or seen a full body needle suspension?

This is something that Stephen and me are interested in doing but we know that it is going to take a lot of advise and precision engineering.

I have done hook suspension but I appreciate that this technique is very different from needles.

All I know is that they use the 4mm needles to do it with, but don't think I've actually seen a suspension from just the needles... if you do, post pics!

I have seen it done, but I don't have any pics I can share. It was a very exciting experience to watch. I thought HerGrinningCrow on you tube had some, but all I could find were piercing videos. I have been chatting to a few people that have been involved with hook suspension and we are going to put our heads together on the needle one.

I've seen it done.  I went to a punk concert where there was some demo'ing of bdsm type stuff going on along with the music.  There was a cross, a flogging/whipping which held little interest in the crowd.  And there was a lot of needle demo's which got more than a bit attention.
The needle lacings were beautiful.
But the suspensions...!  WOW.
One guy was laced up the back and hung up standing somewhat like  cross.  One woman was done up with her legs laced, and shoulderblades, she hung with her body looking at the ground.  And the final guy was just..speared with some . I don't know what they were but it wasn't needles.  It was huge and I think he had permanant holes in his back for this.
Few people paid any attention to the bdsm'y stuff.. but more than 20% of the people there had their backs or legs done up with needle corsetry.

I love needle lacings and tribal needles. On Saturday Stephen and me needled and laced our bodies together and that felt pretty amazing.

I'd be too nervous to try a suspension, I just stick to the little medi staples... all *bap bap bap* done.

I don't mind staples but find them a bit quick. I recently had some scarification done and Steve used staples that were left in for a few days. Must admit they did look awesome! 

Your skin can rip really easily, even with shark hooks, if they are inserted along the incorrect lay of the skin. I have been pinching myself all over to map out how it would work without tearing my skin right off [&:]

I might suggest that you contact a group of hook suspensions that are here in Phoenix, AZ - they can hopefully give you the information that you seek.  Maybe, even some contacts in the UK.

They do amazing shows (so I've been told because I can't watch!) here at the local Fetish Balls.  They have some pictures in their gallery also.  (no I didn't click on the pics because I didn't want to pass out at my desk here at work!)

From reading this post, it sounds like you've done a lot of stuff.. and you know wha tyou need to consider.  I do a lot of piercing and teach a lot of it, though I've not done complete suspension with it.. I've done some partial suspension, with other things taking the heavier weight of the body...

you need very heavy gauge needles for it.. not the kind I'd regularly use for temporary peircing.. and a lot of anchor sites...

not sure where you are, but if you're game enlist either a really experienced and scene friendly permanent peircer and experiment or an experienced hook suspension person and try stuff.. just be sure to anchor the body and slowly take away the safety net.. .I think anything is worth a try with consenting adults.. in fact, I'd love to do it with you.. *grin* good luck!

Full suspension sounds like an increadible erotic scene.

I just wanted to do a little quick math. You would probably need to use the heavier gage needles (18?). And lets assume each needle could support 1/2lb. Then a 150lb person would require a minimum of 300 needles plus a safety factor (25% =75 needles). So to be safe a 150lb person would require 375 to 400 needles.

Disclaimer here: I have no idea if an 18 gage needle can support 1/2 lb of force. That information would need to be researched as well as how to distribute the anchor points so all the needle would have equal force applied to them.

From my body weight we worked out just over 100 needles. Gauge still needs to be worked out but we at least know they will have to be of canula thickness. The pelvis is the heaviest part of the body and would need considerably more needles than anywhere else (thats the bit Im not overly keen on). The head, which is also heavy would have to be cradled ( i am not having needles though my head.

I have taken over a hundred needles but not of canula thickness and I have taken the thickest of canulas so as to insert shark hooks.

I have seen full body suspensions with hooks, but I don't think I have ever seen anyone do it using needles. I just looked at my friends pic and they used hooks on him. It is hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like they used about 20 hooks and had a harness for his head.
