I have a long history of putting something away in what seems to be a very safe and logical place, then never seeing again.  Of course, I know it is around here somewhere, and usually can't bring myself to buy a replacement.  When I do buy another, like clockwork, the original turns up.

I've dated a couple of 'swirly bird things' but I can't remember where I left them.

You might want to figure that out... because those swirly bird types tend to sneak up on you!

OMG!!! I SOOOOO do that too!  Now when I do it, I just say to hell with it and either go buy the replacement, or forget about it, just depends on how badly I need whatever I lost to begin with!

And it is worse when your slave decides to tidy up and re-arrange things on your desk as a surprise.

Seeing as Christmas is looming. How many of us will be unable to find cellotape, wrapping paper or lights for the tree?
After buying new, several miles of each is found while looking for the stand the tree will go in.
