MmistressBeth -> COFFIN.... where can I get one? (12/2/2008 6:00:56 AM)

My 'crypt' is almost completed, underground, the smell of earth, soundproof and pitch black darkness. I just need to find a wooden coffin to put in ready to confine my subs.

Where do I look to find a coffin??????

Mistress Beth

Hi Beth,

You can shop at any funeral home or Americas best friend Ebay.  The stuff on ebay runs 1 or 2 k usually you can get better quality/more expensive from a funeral home.

And on a side note, I'd love to see some pics when your done.

If You want one that is custom and made of wood you may try the Amish or Mennonites. To have one made.

I work with a haunted house, so I've done this a couple times... you get the wierdest looks when driving around a pickup truck with a casket in the back.

We got a bad ass wooden Pakistani coffin, in the traditional shape from an undertaker, and a more modern casket from a funeral home. Many times familys will order caskets and never finish paying for them, so the funeral home must liquidate custom coffins every once in a while. The Pakistani one was free, because we had connections, but the casket was only 300.

Contact your local funeral homes and see if they have anything they want to get rid of. If you want a wooden one, they may also be your best bet, as the crap on the internet tends to be poorly made, and over priced.

Rockler has plans and hardware for a standard casket, if you feel like a DIY.
