I need help in building a smother box. Does anyone have any designs or ideas on how to make one? I am looking to make it from wood and a padded top for her comfort.

You might want to look at the thread titled "head box" , it is on the next page of posts. Hardbodysub posted some links to some real nice looking ones. They are just basically a box, which is hinged on one side and clasped on the other. I tossed together a light duty head type box, i used a piano hinge on the back and locking snap clasps on the front.

not to be a smart-ass or anything, but sometimes coffins can be fairly cheap; no tools required.
