After tickling the ivories to mixed results for Her Maj over at ol' Buck House, our heroine flew to Brussels to persuade Nato chiefs not to reinstitute the Russia/Nato Council, which was closed down after the conflict in Georgia.

Oops.

(I think she's off to Bombay next.  Hope that goes a bit better.  Perhaps she can bowl a maiden over in a reformed England Cricket XI?  Uh, think I'm hijacking me own thread!)

While his wife accompanied Condi on her fiddle, Rowan Atkinson lookalike David Miliband was preparing to hand her a diplomatic set-back.  Anyway, it seemed pretty clear to some of us all along that Europe does not want to prolong the freeze on relations with Russia, nor to accede to US pressure to admit Georgia and Ukraine to Nato.  Now, about that missile shield...

European politcs with respect to the former Soviet Union is pretty easy to understand. The Europeans need a stable relationship with Russia since a turn of the oil valve in Moscow and many areas on the continent would be a lot darker, indeed.
Frankly, I am getting bored with constant nit picking of our politicians by europeans. Don't they have any home grown politicans as interesting as those in the U.S. to poke fun at? I wonder if anyone here is from Georgia.  Would appreciate their view of the U.S.
