Submissives, what subtle clues in how someone dresses or whatever would help you identify a dominant alt person from among the vanilla masses? I mean, slaves have their collars, so that can be pretty easy, but are there any identifying marks or items that I could wear to hint to submissive strangers that I'm kinky, while keeping the vanillas clueless?

sweetpettjenny -> RE: identification (12/26/2005 4:40:00 AM)

None of my past Masters or my Present one have ever needed a indicator other than me, his slave knowing he owned all of me. just Knowing who he is to me is enough .

Yourkitten -> RE: identification (12/26/2005 6:04:41 AM)

there is slave and sub and dom jewelery. bracelets, rings, necklaces etc. but its only important that you know who you are and your master.the vanilla world could care less.

its the red D on My chest and the whip hanging on My belt---

ok ok too frisky today--

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: identification (12/26/2005 9:12:06 AM)

You could wear tshirts with slogans on them, the triskellion symbol, lots of black leather, the leather pride flag, you could FLAG but unless you are gay it might send people the wrong signal.

Otherwise, no. Symbols are not universal and your best bet is just to surround yourself in social situations with people you KNOW are in the scene.

sub4hire -> RE: identification (12/27/2005 9:25:57 PM)

Demeanor and if that doesn't clue a person in I don't know what would. Although I am dominant in my professional life so you still would'nt have a clue unless you watched Doug and I interact someplace.

How about something goth oriented? Of course the collar's are not exactly mainstream professional attire.

Yet, with imagination I'm sure something could be thought of.
A small handcuff charm on a long necklace. You can have it out..or in whatever the circumstances.

When I was 16 I had a roller derby wifebeater, with the words "likes it rough" emblazoned across the chest

this slave thinks there are more subtle clues in the way they behave, carry themselves, and interact with others than how someone dresses...ever see a "vanilla" depiction of a Dominatrix? 99% of the time when this slave sees them they are wearing collars with big rings--go figure.

this slave would suggest spending less time with the vanilla masses and more time with the kinksters within you geographical reach. with them, it's easy...the ones crawling are the slaves, the ones walking upright are the Masters.[;)][:D]

LOL, I had asked Master that same question once, and he answered in the same way.

Elegant -> RE: identification (12/28/2005 9:28:54 PM)

Master Archer has a chrome O-Ring that hangs from the left epaulet of his jacket...a fairly commonly known 'symbol' for 'dominant' in the leather community (might not be as obvious in a primarily het kink communuty).

Jennylu48 -> RE: identification (12/29/2005 6:24:40 AM)

Gwad this is so funny!!! I am getting visions of that standup comic ... "Here's Your Sign". LMAO I know that is irreverent, but it just hit me funny!!! To be serious, I know there is D's jewlery.

omaha68108 -> RE: identification (12/29/2005 2:36:04 PM)

well you can get a bracelet and put dom on it so if any sub see it they would know what your in to

fastlane -> RE: identification (12/29/2005 3:12:58 PM)

My favorite T says "Dom today, but I'm getting smarter!"

Seems to work to identify me...I think?

Hissweetshiv -> RE: identification (12/30/2005 9:39:15 AM)

lol... i had a friend once with a shirt that said "You...me...whips...spurs...cuffs...any questions?" but that might be a bit much in a professional setting. In all seriousness, other than bearing and mannerisms, a discreet ring or necklace might be the way to go. The triskellion is pretty well recognized, and there are other "symbols" out there if that doesn't appeal to you.

Well I just say ....

Petruchio -> RE: identification (12/31/2005 10:10:58 PM)

Mercnbeth is on the right track:

I discovered that I had a kind of 'radar' initially for very oral girls and then submissives. If I 'tune in and observe', it's not that hard for me.

I've noticed that many clubs have what you don't see here: pseudo-doms who strut around, tuff with no sense of humor. I am impressed that the doms on collar are humorous, fun, and sometimes even sensitive. (The few D-females I've met don't have that machismo that young D-males project.)

On the flip side, I used to know this huge 6'4 biker (and soldier) with barbwire tats and it was so misleading because he was the biggest püssy(cat) you ever met.

I suspect that a dom who has to advertise he is a dom, isn't there yet.
