After I moved to San Francisco, my brain decided to start playing a fun game with me:  I would come home, lay my keys down in a different place each day, then put something on top of them.  Each morning, I would have to get up early to hunt for the keys.  One day I got really frustrated by this behavior & realized that it wouldn't stop until I was tired of playing the game.  LOL  Now they go in my pocket or on the hooks next to the door.  Although sometimes, the brain gets nostalgic & plays the game with me again.

Nah....the worst is searching the whole house for your glasses and finally after 20 mins of frantic looking, you realize you've been wearing them all the time! Not that has happened to me...no sirree!

I remember an episode of The Twilight Zone (the in-color version from the 80s) where missing items like that which mysteriously re-appear where one swears they've already looked was explained... It seems as we pass though time minute by minute, each minute is constructed down to every last detail, by a race of creatures who exists in time slightly ahead of us. Missing keys, and things like that, are simply errors made by the  'creatures' that are responsible for assuring the small details of time are in place as we prepare to move along though it. When its discovered an error has occurred (forgetting to put the car keys where they are supposed to be), its always fixed in a later minute, and that's why we find a missing item in a place where we swear we've already looked...

Hey, I thought I was an interesting story...

Well I couldnt find my either. I had seen them yesterday evening on the floor as I didnt bother to put them straight to their normal place when I got home...strangely they werent there anymore when I wanted to put them to their normal place before going to bed. So this morning I had to leave my flat door unlocked and had to take my patio door key with me....thankfully my 1st floor neighbour didnt know that *lol* But now after I got back home, having a rest on the sofa (as I am not well the whole week already and keep eating my paracetamol) I discovered them about a meter apart from where I remembered them the other day...yes, I suppose tidying up might help at my place at the moment. And regarding glasses this morning when I got up I also had to search them a while as they somehow were dropped out their normal place in my shelf. Wasn't quite my day today with waking up a bit too late, missing out my first hour at uni because being stuck in traffic and search hassles with glasses and keys...but at least I am off sick now the rest for the week so its a bit "me" time now for the rest of the week  and I neeeeeeeeeeed it

*snrtsnortsnrt*

Bear, I just spent 20 minutes looking for my glasses, checked the bathroom counter, the kitchen counters, the baskets where I put my stuff when I walk in the door, under the pillows on the bed, the bathroom AGAIN....only to find them right in the place that they actually sort of belong...on the table NEXT to the bed!  Can you say "DUH??"

And of course, I never check where it actually belongs first.....nah...I run around checking the countertops, drawers, fanny pack, pockets......well, you get the idea!

Of course we can't ever find our glasses. We need to have them on to be able to see them. That's obvious.

This coming from a person who managed to drop them in the garbage can and then after searching the house had to go through the garbage. But I found them!

I think KB is trying to drive me nuts....he has a habit of pushing things off counters, usually into another container or trash can, or under something.......I'll look all over hell's half acre for something, and eventually start moving things, and BINGO!....there it is!

Little bugger tossed a bag of sugar free chocolate chips into the trash, I never did find it....only figured out what happened AFTER I dumped said trash and went to make chocolate chip cookies.......little bastage!

How many put things somewhere safe that you dont use everyday so it doesnt get lost? Then forget where the safe place is.

I am forever losing things that I just had in my hand moments ago. I spend more time looking than doing LOL

I keep my keys in my purse.  Now, if I only knew where my purse is.  *sigh*  (j/k)  I keep my purse under my pillows so the dogs won't play with it.

The last time I lost my keys irretrievably was at a toga party at ODU... woke up in jail with no wallet, keys, glasses, shoes or memory of what happened after chugging Southern Comfort in front of a crowd of about 80-100 college students chanting "CHUG!"

True story.  At least I wasn't wearing a toga, but by the time everything was accounted for I might as well have.

ahhhhh yes.......the "safe" place......the only time I've ever found anything in the "safe" place was when I was packing to move from one place to another....how safe is that?

Ugh I do that ALL the time....I put plane tickets and my passport and important papers in a very safe place where it will be easy to get them all when I need them....and then forget where that place is so I turn my room upside down trying to find them again.  I do this all the time. Bah
