Camille.. if you would send me that info, I'd appreciate it :)

Crapola. I bought it from Fredericks of all places just a few weeks ago but can't find it on their website. The tag has : RN73120 on it, but nothing comes up in their search.

However I have an idea... looking at the garment the cap sleeves are beyond simple. They are nothing more than large half circles of lace with some beading, attached with single ribbon (a bit like a bra strap but closer to the outer edge of the shoulder). A tailor could do it in seconds (or someone who uses a needle for things other than splinters).

There are also a huge variety of over the booby corsets that have genuine straps like this one:
http://www.fredericks.com/product.asp?catalog_name=Holiday2002&category_name=Corsets-Curve&product_id=73828

I remember vaguely you saying that you aren't a corset person (I think...) but honestly they are surprisingly comfortable and versatile, a fantastic classy look that you can toss a jacket, scarf, shawl over and just about any bottoms from jeans to dress slacks to any skirt.

Since you aren't a plumper like me I think you would be an easy off the rack fit and look absolutely beautiful, and feel beautiful too.

Every woman should own a piece of clothing that makes them feel beautiful and a pretty corset does it for me every time.

Procrastinating. What else is new? I should be packing. Especially since I work tonight.

dreamofthemoon -> RE: What are you doing today? (12/9/2008 2:55:57 PM)

Well...

i was going through a bunch of old VHS tapes she had taped shows on for us back in the day (mostly Disney channel ones, a Voltron cartoon or two for my brother...) and the like to see if they're still watchable.  Mom's been going through our storage unit this week and she found them stashed in a box, so obviously, she sent them over to me to save the good ones and toss the bad ones.  A lot of fond memories are in those movies, but i digress...

Anywho, all was going well with the insert-VHS-tape-into-VHS-slot-on-tv-press-play-watch-part-or-all-of-movie-rewind-if-necessary-press-eject-when-over-then-decide-if-it's-one-to-save-or-throw  part until the unthinkable happened...

Yes, it was just my luck that one had to get itself stuck in there. [8|]

Phone call to mom to tell her what happened and that she might get all of her old VHS tapes back (minus one) sooner than she thought.  Suggested a phone call to dad when he gets off work later this afternoon to see if he'll come and help me remove said video tape.

Problem is, i'm concerned about him being able to get up the stairs at my apartment since his knee went out on him last week and he might have to have surgery.  (i'm assuming so, since i'm out of the loop on this one, like most always... *sigh*)

So, that's what i was doing earlier, if anybody wants to know.

soul2share -> RE: What are you doing today? (12/9/2008 3:18:23 PM)

well, on my only WHOLE day off, I went to Wal-mart, spent too much money, then came home to wait for the appliance repair guy...who, at the time of this writing is 1 hour and 47 minutes overdue......did laundry while waiting for the aforementioned ARG.....and as soon as the laundry is done, I'm off on yet another errand.......hell, I need to go back to work to take it easy!

LadyHibiscus -> RE: What are you doing today? (12/9/2008 3:55:36 PM)

I got up at my usual slackass nightowl time, and went to teach a seminar on audit representation.  Had any of the participants taken the computer class first?  They had NOT.  Still, it was a fun class, and it will be more fun tomorrow when we finish our discussion on dealing with IRS collections!  Then I had dinner, and bought toothpaste!  Mourned the discontinuance of my Crest Lemon Burst.  Now I am pondering chocolate chip cookies.

Are you going to make those cookies LH? IF so, I'll start checking flights out of Portland [8D]

I've never heard someone use that before in speech. It's a very old phrase, Elizabethan I think.
