Update:
After only thirteen hours I've managed to get the forum partly resurrected.

I spoke to Pirate last night and it was agreed not to restore the backup.  This would have been quicker, but anything posted after the 13th would have been lost forever.  Neither of us thought it was a viable option.  It simply wasn't fair on those who took the time to post.

I've tracked down the files that were corrupted.
The control database file for each thread was blank.  So were the files that hold all of the information stored in a users profile.
As a result, if you've updated your profile after the 13th then the changes will have to be done again.  If you've registered after the 13th I'll need a PM with your e-mail address to try to manually rebuild your profile.  This is preferable to re-registering as deleting old profiles may result in the posts from that person being lost as well.

Please accept that my primary concern is to resurrect the board.  Checking PM's will be sporadic at best so please be patient.

Well, it's been an educational experience to say the least, but juancas is now (mostly) restored to the madhouse it was at 19:00 (GMT) last night.

I'm still trying to resurrect some accounts for those who've registered after 13/02/09.  If you can't get in, please let me know.

Some of you will have had an e-mail already.  Please note your password is case sensitive if it's been changed.

The categories on the forum say there's been no posts (until someone makes a post).  Please ignore this.  Click away and you'll see the boards and the threads.

If I don't answer PM's straight away, please bear with me.  It's taken me sixteen hours to get the boards back and users profiles need to be recoded manually as well.... oh, and I may need some sleep. [;)]

Ditto Greedy, he has gone above and beyond what he had to, now that dedication to much loved friends.
Q rocks and I absolutly totally adore every part of him. He is one of those few that I feel a spiritial (for lack of a better work) happy connection.  I love me Q and also his precious lil Og.
