First, I am very much new to all of this. I had the pleasure of being in a brief D/s relationship a couple of years back. She left for overseas and something else stayed behind, a curiousity to learn more for myself. My experience was brief, three months in length and we carried it on online for about another two months. To be honest.. it wasn't the same.
I am definitely not into being submissive myself but enjoy being dominant in a creative manner. I am looking to learn and experience more and am open to a lot of things. I am not into excess pain.. giving or recieving nor am I into humilition and degradation. One of the things I enjoyed most in the relationship I was in was the feeling of trust and the yielding of power based on that trust. I enjoyed being the protector as well as sharing in the weaving of our relationship together.
Any information, guidance or honest help would be appreciated. I live in the SW Michigan area near Kalamazoo. Any culture here is well hidden... chuckle.

BearMage, I live in SW Michigan as well. There is a BDSM scene here that may interest you. Go to diamondjimssaloon.com click on calendar and look for the fetish odyssey link. That will give you all the dates of any play parties at diamond jims saloon in Detroit. Also there is a group called the ann arbor munches that meet once a month. This is a group discussion only. Maybe I will see you at one of these gatherings. Once you get more into the scene here, you will learn alot more about how active it is.

I'm in the next town over, and there are Kinky Individuals Near Kalamazoo-nothing spectacular, but at least kindred spirits.

Here is a link to the mailing list. Come out for a munch or two-sometimes there are play parties, but they are usually at private homes.
