I don't think there is a normal time. There are people I've met after one email and then there are people I won't ever meet. It all depends on a variation of things. First and foremost, are they going to make an effort to come to me? Is it going to work within my life schedule? How badly do they want to meet me and visa versa? What is the purpose of the meet? You see, I don't put a huge amount of importance in just meeting someone. I think too many people get too wound up about it. If it is someone I think might have some potential for a real life "something", then sooner rather than later. I am also not going to consider them serious until I spend time with them. So, that being said, there are probably others that I am also communicating with that have about as equal a chance at being "something" more. If they want to stand out and have a better chance, they'd better get their ass to Iowa pronto.
