So basically HK was right, and you would NOT be the one taking on the drug dealers directly.....[8|]

CL, that may be true but there's a lot of people who would.
We wouldn't even have to pay them!

Is there any more of the constitution of my country you would like to wipe your ass on?
If you do not like the constitutional protections that our citizens enjoy perhaps you might avail yourself of an airplane ticket to some place more to your liking.

Actually most of your tax money goes for the war in the "sandbox" and bailing out capitalist assholes with connections.

True, but we would have to pay to hunt down these scumbag vigilanties and prosecute them and imprison them.

I was almost in the Beatles, but I was too young to go to Hamburg. A few years later, I was almost an Apollo astronaut, but I flunked the lung capacity evaluation because of my bong use. In the mid-70s, I was almost one of the Village People, but I was straight. No go there. In the 80s I almost pulled off overthrowing the Sandinistas, but that little weasel Ollie North jumped in and took all the credit. In the 90s I almost wrote an OS that was so far ahead of Windows that it made laser printing look like cave paintings, but agents of Bill Gates sent a 220V 3-phase pulse into my house and fried everything. What I did in this decade is classified. Sorry.

Mexican authorities believe Tijuana's Arellano Felix organization is behind a new wave of violence directed at civilians to terrorize the population of Tijuana at the U.S. border.  The question is whether the new tactics of deliberately targeting civilians changes the drug war into outright terrorism.  I think this section of the border needs reinforcements from our troops more than we need to have them in Iraq or Afghanistan.

"Indiscriminate drug killings sow terror in Mexico"

By Lizbeth Diaz Lizbeth Diaz – Tue Dec 9, 12:47 pm ET

" "In fact, we don't see a clear target in any of the recent killings of this kind. We cannot rule out that these are terror-style acts," said Juan Salvador Ortiz, a deputy prosecutor for Baja California state, home to Tijuana.

Police and anti-drug experts believe Tijuana's Arellano Felix organization, which has been hurt by the arrests of former leaders and a turf war with other gangs, is behind the shootings as it desperately tries to hold its ground.

Under a nationwide clampdown on drug gangs, President Felipe Calderon has sent thousands of soldiers and federal police to Baja California since January 2007, complicating life for the Arellano Felix clan that became notorious and made a fortune in the 1990s for smuggling cocaine into California, one of the world's top drug markets.

Soldiers have made big drug seizures and captured more Arellano Felix leaders but have failed to stop the violence.

"The Tijuana turf is too valuable to lose. They are doing this to stay in the city, to show their power and ridicule the authorities," said Victor Clark, a drug trade expert at San Diego State University, of the public shootings.

"Empty streets make it easier for them to operate." "

Across from El Paso, Juárez is also a major border problem.  About seven murders a day take place and over 1,500 people have been killed this year thus far versus 800 in 2007.  Over 20% of the police force was fired because they were on the cartel payroll and the city is about to add 350 police academy grads to replace those fired.  Billions of dollars flow from the U.S. to these cartels every year and our politicians look the other way.
Maybe when seven people a day are killed in LA, NYC or Chicago things might be taken more seriously.
This should be a major priority for Obama.  Drugs have killed generations of minorities and loaded up our prisons.
Instead of cutting the cost of albian or vicoden we should cut the cost of pot and heroin and put the cartels out of business.  Prohibition never works for anyone but criminals.

Gee Hunter, if *our govt* was doing it's fucking job and hunting down and imprisoning those scumbag illegal aliens and drug pushers there wouldn't be any need for private citizens to do so, would there?
Bush has looked the other way to enrich his wealthy friends.
Obama has already said that if someone is in this country illegally that they need to leave so we could possably see some progress in this area.
He also said that the borders need to be enforced.

Are you suggesting that all or even a significant percentage of illegal aliens are drug pushers?
Your posts seem to encourage vigilantism which is a felony at both the state and federal level.

Hunter, they're two distinct groups.
However some illegals are also drug smugglers or locally, drug pushers.
And yes, I do encourage vigilantism when our govt fails to act and has been *derelict in it's duties.*
We American Citizens have the right to defend ourselves.

Your attempt to "weasel word" your way out of my question has been duely noted.
Just how many of the estimated 12 to 40 million illegal alliens (depending on which biggot you are currently listening to)do you ...think,know,surmise...are involved in the drug trade, was the question I posed.
The TOS of this site specifically prohibit the encouragement of illegal activity.  It is also a felony called conspiracy.   If convicted,as were several leaders of the KKK, you could loose your pretty new car, your home all those guns you keep telling us about and perhaps wind up with a new boy friend named "no neck Fernando".
The next time one of those illegal alien drug pushers approaches you, it is possible that you might take a former "first lady's" advice and "just say no".  What precisely are you ("We Americans")defending yourself from that would require you to murder them?

Seems lately the word is losing some of its pizazz due to overuse...

This is good news...I am looking forward to what he does get done in this area.
It is a huge concern of mine.

Termyn8or -> RE: Drug cartels bringing terrorism to US/Mexico border? (12/16/2008 8:43:07 AM)

I'm with popeye here. We do have the right, perhaps even the responsibility to defend ourselves.

An outfit called Ranch Rescue has been capturing illegal aliens and turning them over to law enforcement for years now. A sherriff in Texas has stated under the cloak of anonymity that the INS usually tells him to release them, and if they have even automatic weapons, to return them. Border patrol agents sit in prison for wounding someone caught smuggling hundreds of pounds of pot, and the illegal got a bunch of money from the government for his testimony against the border patrol agents.

Now I have nothing against the pot obviously, but when you play the game, shit happens. To me, an illegal alien is pretty much a tourist if they do not suck on the public through or cause trouble.

As far as the turf wars, if they just keep them on their side of the border I have no problem with it. Just send who wins, I'll take a nickel bag.

Really, if you just sold five hundred pounds of weed you are probably not applying for welfare. You are probably having a cool vacation, spending some of that money.

The war on drugs really is a crock of shit.

Who and what are you or popeye defending yourselves against?  As I mentioned earlier if a dope dealer offers you dope for sale and you are not interested do like Nancy says "just say no"  I have never heard of a drug dealer assaulting someone for not wanting to buy their product.

You and I both know that that is a crock of shit.  Possession of an automatic weapon, without a permit, is a federal felony.  Given what you know about the ethical values of cops, how many do you know who would give up a full auto weapon?

Border patrol agents sit in prison for wounding someone caught smuggling hundreds of pounds of pot, and the illegal got a bunch of money from the government for his testimony against the border patrol agents.
Perhaps you might want to read the transcript of the trial and find out why those two criminals are in the joint.  They were crooked cops involved in an ongoing criminal enterprise.  They tried to murder their supplier and steal his product.  They got just what they deserved.
The supplier got what he got for ratting off the cops, which, to the prosecutors, was a better deal because they got not just the two cops but a major portion of their network.

Now I have nothing against the pot obviously, but when you play the game, shit happens. To me, an illegal alien is pretty much a tourist if they do not suck on the public through or cause trouble.
