He's crooked just like his old man.
Doesn't his brother own a Budweiser distributorship?
GEE! I wonder how he got that?
Wasn't "The Reverand" shaking down Budweiser a number of years ago?

That's odd, when I was growing up they called that "Extortion."
They played a tape of him on the news and he called being a legislator, "a proffession." Oh? Since when?

Ha, Ha, Yahoo News reports that Jackson's lawyer admits that he was "candidate number 5."

Actually he called it a noble profession...

What I found interesting today was that he hasn't actually been accused of anything... and here he is already stridently proclaiming his innocence.  Which to me makes him sound very GUILTY.  My only question is of what exactly.  Time will tell I'm sure.

I'm just wondering how many of you with political ambitions would turn down an offer of being appointed Senator when all that was required was a donation to a political campaign? Money is shifted all the time...Some of President Bush's campaign funds were transferred to Matt Blunts gubernatorial campaign in Missouri because of Bush's buddy Congressmen Roy Blunt asked him to.

I'll bet it was not stated as an out and out highest bidder gets the Senate... How could he be sure no one would rat him out?

I don't think you can blame the people he contacted and I'm not sure they did anything wrong.

I think (and I maybe wrong) there are limits to how you can transfer funds from one canpaign to another.  I think they can send more to the national party and they then split it up.  This is generally done in full view and reported on.

The thing here is, it appears this was more of a backroom kinda deal, where no one reports anything.

Jackson is saying yes I talked to them, no I did not offer any money.

The problem here is that 1 party has been in control of Illinois (Dems) for to long, and people think they can do anything because the party will support them.

Ahhh.....happens everytime.

"The louder he protested his innocense the faster we counted the silverware!"
I just went into Wiki and this guy is an ASSHOLE from the word go.
Pictures of him in "Darfur", a Bill, to have any cloth made in Africa imported to the U.S. (of course!) duty and quota free and on and on.
If an Italian or Polish congressman tried to do the same thing they'd be censored!
Seems there's the "right way", the "wrong way", and the "Jackson Way."
They said on the News that "$5,000 was to be the "downpayment" on the senate seat with $500,000 in,.....wink wink, nod nod, "campaign contributions" later."
"A Bribe?"
"That's not a bribe, them's "campaign contributions!"
Meanwhile last week, that bitch Caroline Kennedy just pranced into N.Y. Gov. Patterson's office and "applied" for the senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton.
Fucking Kennedy's always want to "contribute" in some way don't they, as long as it's a "job" at the very top right from the start!
You *never* see them working amoungst the hoi polloy do you?
Have you ever seen such a group of people with such an "entitlement" complex?
What, 20 million-some-odd people in N.Y. State and Caroline thinks "she" should get the job because.....
Damn, P.E. Obama's not even in office yet and the Democrats are tripping over each other to be the first one to step on their own dicks.
I wonder if (I) were a senator from,.....oh,...Massachusetts say, if I could get my retarded kid in the House of Representatives from a neighboring state like,.....oh,....maybe Rhode Island?
