My favorite toy is wearing out. It's a set of bundled rattan canes, dipped in polyurethane.

It originally had 8 canes, but I've broken two off at the handle and -if you look closely- you can see the tip of one is broken off and a couple others are splintering. It's not going to stand up to much more usage. I bought this one from a vendor at FroliCon last Easter. It was hand made by him, but I have no idea who it was. I would really like to have another, but don't want to wait until Easter if I don't have to. This one only cost $20 and was the best toy I've ever had in that price range. It makes a beautiful whistling sound when I swing it in the air and leaves welts like a rub board on my boy's back. I think it's amazingly HOT to run my hands over those welts. If I break more canes out of this one, I won't be able to enjoy my pain slut as well.
Anyone familiar with this item? Know the name of the vendor? Able to make one just like it? I would rather get one from the orginal maker and 'Support the Arts' in my own little way.
