While it is possible that he may have created the robot and actually programed it with certain abilities, if he thinks he can actually perfect it within the next few years, with investor help, he needs a reality check. Azimo, the robot developed by Honda took over a billion dollars and years to get it to the point it is at now, which is far from self initiating, which is the sign of true AI. That being said, and without actually seeing any details on the system's capability, there are some distinct possibilities. If he has actually made some jump in both tactile sensors and the ability to respond accordingly, then he may actually find that the leading research and development teams in the robotics and prosthetic industries will beat a path to his door. And as someone pointed out, he may very well be on his way to creating a service robot, and if I may point out, some of the biggest leaps in technology have come from garages.
