raaaul -> Earning potential of a Dominatrix? (12/12/2008 10:02:34 PM)

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone would like to share their thoughts on the earning potential of a professional dominatix?  I understand that there is a huge range and just like any profession, there are top, mid and bottom earners.

What I am specifically interested in learning is if professional domination allows ladies to earn more than what most would consider an average income.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks.

Why? Are you a tax inspector?

I assure you that I'm not a tax inspector.  It's just that you hear so much about escorts, strippers, massage parlours attendants and how much they make, but nobody ever talks about domination.

I asked simply for my own curiosty.  Nothing more, nothing less.

If you are thinking of going into it... be sure to research your state's codes on prostitution.  I had my best boy Google it for me and found out that the state of Tennessee has very deliberately vague wording to leave such cases in the hands of each local judge and police jurisdiction.  The law states that any person engaging in acts with another person which either party considers to be sexually stimulating for compensation is prostitution.

I have several friends who are police officers.  However, none of them know (openly) what my extra curricular activities are.  I haven't thought up a polite way to broach the subject to discuss it openly with them.  Technically, I have 'sexually stimulated' my best boy and he has given me gifts.  But then, what vanilla dating couple hasn't done the same, just in a different manner?  However, I have not stated to people that I barely know, "If you give me X#$ I will give you an hour of my time."  It sort of looks like if you're being a problem or people complain, you'll get busted.  If not, they will most likely leave you alone.

I think you have the answers.  Why ask us?  Will you compare them to lawyers, doctors and the like?  Some study their art as long as they do to perfect things.  The class room just looks different. (smile)

Really... why the question?

Indeed, I always wonder why folks ask this question...  When you're going for a sales type job, they talk about your earning "potential".  Well, I am here to tell you that you can't eat potential!

Can you make a LIVING as a pro dominant?  Sure.  Will you become wealthy?  Probably not.

MistressRouge -> RE: Earning potential of a Dominatrix? (12/13/2008 9:45:10 AM)

Yes, alot more, sometimes a monthly wage on a very good day :)

A professional business woman will be wise with it though, feed money back into her business, and invest for the future.

There must be some other element included in that law, such as there has to be physical touching, otherwise, that law is waaaaaaaaaaaay to vague, as in: UNCONSTITUTIONAL!  Under that vague definition, even topless and strip clubs could not exist in Tennessee.  Do they?

Well, there are so many people who tend to believe that dominas earn so much money and I never really felt that was the case.  I feel that they may make an average income but even then, there are probably many professional dominas who don't.  The main thing that would attract a woman to professional domination is the ability to earn non-taxable income, be her own boss, work less hours and in many instances, it may supplement their income.

It would be interesting to get some ideas from people who are immersed in the lifestyle as well as professionals themselves since they would be the ones to have the best insight.

Lockit -> RE: Earning potential of a Dominatrix? (12/13/2008 2:06:17 PM)

Well even if I wasn't afraid of the IRS... I sure wouldn't be talking about my income on a message board.  You had it right in your post.  Some do, some don't.

Lockit -> RE: Earning potential of a Dominatrix? (12/13/2008 2:08:09 PM)

Oh now wait a minute... you added to your post it seems... or is my memory that bad! lol  Now you are talking criminal activity.  So not going there! lol

Strip club patrons in our area must stay back at least 6 feet from the dancers.  Maybe more.  Don't remember the exact number.  I do remember the big stink when that local law passed because the girls were complaining that they make WAY more money when men are allowed to tuck bills into their garters or g-strings than when they have to leave the money in a tip jar at the end of the runway.  And girls cannot dance nude.  The nipples and pubic area must be covered... however, a thin layer of latex painted over the nipples and at least 2 inch wide strip of pubic hair are considered 'covered'.  Go figure.

(Yeah... I used to sell stage makeup, latex, glitter, tattoo cover and other stuff to strippers.  They kept trying to get me to make and sell leg garters and break away clothing to the customers at exaggerated rates to 'give' to the girls.)

RumpusParable -> RE: Earning potential of a Dominatrix? (12/13/2008 3:14:57 PM)

Only honest answer possible:  it depends.

It depends on:

the attractiveness of the domina
her skills/interests
how much and where she advertises
what connections she has
where she is based in or travels to
what she charges
how often she takes sessions
where she does the sessions
if she's independent, part of a house or a mix
her costs in all these things and more
the interests of local potential clients
the laws in that area and how they apply to her

and more.

Just as with any employee, and especially independent contractors/business owners, there is a range from making almost nothing and not making bills to multi-zero income and living the good life.  It depends on the many aspects of business considerations and how good a businessperson they are in their chosen field.

Dominatrix's are the same things as Dominants, just a fancier name.

And if you;re talking about being a Dominatrix for money, well then you ARE a pro Dom. Unless you meant male pro Doms.

I can manage about four inches of it.  More than that, and I start to choke.
