Hello,

Is there any type of collar you can wear during the day in a work environment that looks normal.
However if a master or dominate saw it they would realize you are a sub/slave?

I am surprised at how many doms walk among us everyday, wearing suites and ties. I want them to know I understand and am obedinate

you can get a necklace with a lock pendant or even a choker with a small o ring on it and to kinda cover the the o-ring you can put a small charm on it or something....not certian another Dom would know as everyone understands things a diffrent way....

Whoa, be careful with this.

First, not every man who wears a suit and tie is a dom.  Far from it.

More importantly, wearing a collar could send EXACTLY the wrong message to an available dom.  Normally a collar means "I'm collared," not "I'm available to be collared."

There is no unmistakable way to show that you're submissive, especially in the workplace (where there are often good reasons not to advertise your sexuality), but I'd say the very first step would be to act submissive.  People will notice.

There is something girl has seen and it requires much the same as was already suggested, except attached to the O-ring to a small choker. Since chokers are a common piece of jewelery, that should suffice.
If you want to send a signal that you belong to someone else, just put a lock on the O-ring without the key and the engraved initial upon the small lock.
This was a popular method girl remembers from back in high school in telling guys and girls, hands off.

I wouldn't wear a collar for this purpose.  Even if someone recognized you for being a submissive, they would think you were already owned.

I would suggest some other kind of subtle piece of jewelry that only other bdsmers would recognize.  Maybe one of those "Story of O" rings, or something with the chinese slave symbol on it, for example a small charm on a chain.  Amongst bdsm people those are commonly recognized, yet 'vanillas' would be clueless to their meaning.

Quick answer, yes, there are plenty of collars that can be worn for everyday use. Question would be, why would you want to wear a collar to let someone know you are submissive? Are you in the habit of advertising for relationships at work?

Also, as said before, a collar indicates TAKEN not LOOKING. So, Any dominant who saw it would likely think you were off the market anyway. They might know you were a sub, but what you wear does not imply your obedience.

Lordandmaster: you know, that kind of begs the question: why haven't we come up with some way of flagging ourselves as being available? The collar definitely sends the signal that you are taken, sut what about it's opposite?

I remember watching some movie that took place in the 50's, and in one scene, a girl was explaining how to wear a knotted scarf... put the knot in the middle of the throat, it means you are "going steady" and wearing the knot to one side meant that you were available.
And of course there are friendship rings and such.... and the gay community has an entire hanky code built up for telegraphing desires and fetishes across a crowded room.

Why isn't there a simple way of going to a leather event and flagging yourself as "open to suggestions?"

Well, there's "flagging," but the rules are so complicated (and known to so few) that it would hardly be effective in the workplace.

Why would you want to be obedient to every single "Dom"??? I don't get it.

Instead why not just be a normal individual and get to know people for who they are..not WHAT you THINK they are.

wearing a collar is just the outer reflection....
it is what is in your heart and soul that shows what you are....

personally, i think you're all got up with the latest fashion craze.  to me, a collar isn't worn to say "hey, look at me ...i'm a freaky submissive/slave woman ...come dominante me..."

i wear a collar at my workplace every night ...a few recognize the significance behind it while others think it's a fashionable piece of jewelry.

edited to add:  you would be surprised how many of the suit and ties types are actually pain-loving slut submissives ...my pet is one of them

I would recommend stamping "good subby girl" on your forehead.  That would get the message across.

But seriously, for some (or many, I don't have statistics handy) a collar is right up there with a wedding ring, in that it can show ownership, commitment, etc.  However, for others, a collar simply goes with the outfit at the time.  If you are dead-set on wearing one, then have at it, but make sure you are within dress code at work.  One would hate to lose their job in this economic climate because you just had to put it out there that you are a submissive girl.

Any idea where I would find something like this. Websites to order from or a type of store?

Thanks

Whoa folks!  I am taken but I don't have anything to wear that is approriate for the workplace. Kinda of a reminder for me because I have to be a little aggressive at work and I get in trouble when I go home because it's hard to switch gears. So I get in a lot of trouble. I just need a reminder that keeps me in check. Also it would be a little bonus like a "secret hand shake" to let others in the lifestyle know we share a common interest.

Actually I didn't think of the ring. I like that even better

Since you're "taken", perhaps your D has a suggestion... seems like a situation in which something personally significant that isn't dreadfully obvious is called for.
My babygirl has a diamond necklace that she wears to work.. and that I put on her much as I would her Collar, every morning. It stands for very much the same thing, without being anything other than a pretty accessory to those she works with.
If you want to be a slightly bit more obvious, perhaps a necklace or charm bracelet with a Triskelion pendant or charm on it? Those who know should recognize it, without actually making any assumptions about your status, other than to acknowledge your interest in BDSM

I wear  a Claddagh ring - mine shows that I'm single but not that I have submissive wants/needs/desires etc.

There is a necklace that I found online that was with a rather ornate lock. It was a heart on a necklace (the lock) and a key upon the same chain.
There was another, very similar. One half was gold and the other half silver, it too the key to unlock both halves.
Both examples seem appropriate to me.

There was another I have not seen in a while worn by anyone, that is the slave bracelet.

Also agree with littlewonder, that you should not exhibit submissive behavior to just any dom. Be careful as you might send the wrong message and perceived as an easy mark.

I have been looking for something similar, just a nice piece of jewelry to wear about my daily buiseness that reminds me of my husband. I've seen lots of simple looking pieces of metal rings, more like hoops, really,  that just go around your neck, very fashionable yet not overbearing, like this one http://www.pictureitcreations.com/images/silver_hoop_necklace.jpg

You also would want to keep your comfort in mind - lots of us *dream* about wearing thick leather collars with heavy locks and rings, but working 8 hours a day with that around your neck is only going to make your work suffer. Not sexy.

I also agree that you may not want to advertise your submissiveness - we all get excited, but there's alot of not so understanding people out there, both in and out of the scene. Better to play it safe than sorry when in the world of vanilla's.
