Probably just random, bad things like this happen occasionally. Why would anyone burn down a church just because Palin goes there? That woman has a massive ego to even think it could be connected at this early stage. A non strory until more is known.

Church burnings aren't all that common, Rae.  It's a very loaded sort of act.  That it might be connected to her is a pretty obvious direction, and I highly doubt her statement was issued without questions being asked.

She frequently states that god is directly responsible for whatever may be happening or about to happen in her life at any given moment. How long will it be before she issues a statement blaming him for this?

It must have been a fairly common occurrence for the ATF to set up their "National Church Arson Task Force" some time ago. Also perhaps the arson started near the church but spread to the church, too soon to assume it has anything to with Palin.
Even if the church was the target there are hundreds of other motives than Palin, maybe someone took exception to a sermon? Palin seems rather irrelevant at this juncture it’s not as if people have any more reason to hate her than they did before.

I thought she was dead now... Oh wait, no, sorry, it's just her career.  Nevermind

OK.

Can we all at least agree that arson is bad, don't do it?

Perhaps we can then proceed from that point.

The Associated Press story has little to with with Palin beyond her apologizing IF the attack had anything to do with her. The report goes on to note the church's anti-gay stance, perhaps a more likely motive.

But all this is speculation. A church was partially burned. That's what we know.

What is most troubling is that the fire happened while people were inside the building.  Many people could have been injured or killed.

No, I think what we also know, or at least can safely assume, from the politics of the OP and his comments in post #3, is that the intent of this thread is to imply that it was an act of violence against her from those who oppose her views.

That anyone would commit arson while there were people inside is reprehensible no matter what their intentions were and the message they wanted to convey was. If they were after Palin and out to hurt her, i suspect they would have targeted her home..not her church.

Try reading what I wrote, RML, instead of determining your snark and ethical position from the identifying avatar.  I said that a connection to Palin was an obvious direction to look into, and that her statement was likely prompted by people asking that obvious question.

Yes, and your purpose for posting this was simply to remind us all arson is bad and we should all be aware of fire safety.

The whole Palin thing was just a coincidental afterthought.

Gee.  A mindreader...  Would an arson at Trinity in Chicago be worthy of a thread in your eyes?

My purpose was to perhaps discuss the hate, blind partisanship, and utter idiocy that still permeates our political discourse.  Once again, you are just putting it on display.  To know my politics is to know my mind and purpose???

       Later, dude.

Yes Vendeval, that's vicious!

How are you by the way?
Would have loved to see you at our Kinky Holiday party Sat night!
We all had a blast and most of us stayed overnight at the hotel.

Best,
