for me.. they are intimate things.. and while someone might hear them in passing... I keep them close...

I do refer to someone in my life as 'Distraction' as thats what he is... maybe was... and then 'the boi' who is so much more than that.. what I call either of them at home is between us..

Subs are always wanting pet names. Seems like they want me to give them a pet name before I even know their real names. Pet names need to be based on the PERSON and you can't just pull a name out of a hat, it needs to 'fit'.

My sweet Westie is my adorable pup. His nick name in many arenas is "West" which derived from 'Wesley' on "Princess Bride." That little fact was what grabbed my attention in the first place... otherwise, I might have passed him by because he is so young. Simply tacking the 'ie' on it just made him sound more like the pup he is. (Westie is the common slang for West Highland Terriers.)

Wall-e was also derived from his existing name, and (Obviously!) the movie. His wide eyed innocence and strong desire to serve despite his age lead me to that one. Sadly, he has left the lifestyle for the moment. I simply await his return. What's that old saying? "If you love to beat someone set them free?" Something like that.

Bear... well, bless his heart... he just came by that one naturally because he is such a grumpy old Grizzly on the outside but has that lovable squeezy teddy bear hiding inside. Pookie got his because of his love of toilet service... but I think he has wandered away. Scottie and Sim are simply versions of their real names. Meat is the one I simply want to treat like a side of beef.

So, you see, getting a nick name (to me) should be based on the person and it should simply spring to mind one day.

My preferred name for myself is Ghoddess. But I only want those who truely FEEL it to use it. Otherwise, just call me by my name or some version of my nick. "MsS" seems quite popular.

i'm not into using formal titles ...my pet does refer to me as my Owner or Mistress at times or my Dear

i call him pet. i have called him a bunch of pet names but one day i said "pet" and he practically purred so it stuck.

I've given several names.

pet - he had this wonderful long hair that I loved to pet for hours

chosen - because I chose him as Mine when there were several vying for My attention

clip - because when I named him, I thought our time would be finite, like the life of freshly clipped flowers (of course, we know it didn't turn out that way)

slave m - he was My first and I wasn't incredibly creative

fate - because it was only by luck that we met

I've also had a hand in naming some play partners. That would be lil dove and pretty boy.

There have also been others that I am not as comfortable sharing on the board just now. I've also had an affection for calling My boys either lil one or dear one, as it strikes Me. Calling one My lil slut is for more personal times.

As to what they call Me, most of them call Me Mistress, if there is a dynamic established. M'Lady is what clip calls Me and every once in a while is used by a little switch that I play with. Clip only calls Me Mistress during sexual service. Chosen always called Me Mistress <insert real name> because he was not collared and had his own beliefs about not calling someone Mistress alone without being so.

i never gave anyone a name before because i never collared them. when i wanted to show affection i would call them little one, perhaps. I only allowed the boys to call me Maam, as i always felt Mistress should be kept for someone with ownership and committment.

My pet calls me Mistress since i collared him. The rule became at that point that he is not allowed to use that honorific for any other. i call him pet, because that is what he is and what i always wanted. I don't think it was what he thought he was looking to be, but the silly boy just didn't know any better. At some point it evolved into My pet and my Mistress, most of the time. It is a reminder of the special relationship and sounds very sweet. When i really want to make him purr i just refer to him as the simple MINE!

My pet names depend on the guy. They always feel natural to us both. It normally comes from one of their fetish or kinks. It's also something I can normally call them in public, ok most of the time without their being strange looks. This is discounting the normal honey and sweetie stuff which I do a lot of anyways.

I normally seem to be called, my name, Mistress, and mommy. It again depends on the guy. I had one boy call me this awsome Japanese word which meant something along the lines of high ranking woman at the level of a royal family member. He only called me that a few times but I thought it was sweet. I also get called baby, sweetie and honey.

I've only had one, to date, who is submissive to me. Mine is a thought that, to this day, runs through my head when I look at him and I called him that when our relationship was active. He enjoyed being called a slave, thus I called him that and a few other endearments but Mine is my favorite.

I call my submissive "dear boy" a lot in conversation, and when my husband and I are talking, I tend to call him "Johnboy" to differentiate him from the John who is my brother, the John who is our mentor in the SCA, the John who is one of his coworkers, the John who....well, you get the idea. (laugh) That's the problem with common names in a particular generation. I think his pet name may wind up being "Horse". Because my philosophy of management is close to horsetraining, and he is very like a horse someone has abused right now, and as my husband put it, "Yes, he's average all right. Average for a small pony." (grin)

I joke with her and tell her her full title is: little slave girl Syr anne. *chuckle*

I call her: girl, anne, my girl, slave girl, slave girl anne, my spiritual partner. she calls me Ma'am, my Ma;am, my Master, Master Fire, Fire and Machele, that latter two being only in specific settings.

We really don't have pet names for each other. Most of the time its Ma'am and girl.

I really adore being addressed Madam, Ma'am also Mistress is fine too.

My lifestyle slave's are joanne a TV, and my chastity slave is number 1. Joanne and I went for a meal on Saturday, to celebrate our collaring, and I still call her "joanne" in public too.

My professional clientele submissives I call them whatever name I deem fit for them, at that particular moment/session. Some quite rude, and not to be expressed on a public forum

The ironic thing is, it came about in an odd way. I took the nickname and transformed it to suit My purposes. It just fit.

I still remember the look on My husband's face the night I explained why I was going to use the name. He sat on the bed and listened to My reasons (the above being the primary, but I almost always have more than one) for basing My decision. He stared at Me for the longest time. When he finally did say something, he told Me how beautiful he thought it was and how much in love he was with Me.

i once had a Mistress who called me the c word. c#$t! i hated it as She would even call me it in front of scene friends.

Certain things are more private than others, but my Owner primarily calls me Fox. It's my slave name, my scene name, and I put it on the same level as my real name...mostly because I very rarely actually hear my real name anymore.

Some other things I get called are, for example: Pretty boy, Little One, Pretty Girl, Mine, My property

I never "rename" anyone I am with, and I am in the unimaginative sweetie-honey zone most of the time. I used to be fine with being called "mistress" or "goddess" but in recent years it irks me... "ma'am" works all the time, along with my name and its variations. I am pleased with all terms of endearment.

My pets have always called me Miss, and on the rare occasion Mistress.

The name that my pet responds to around the house is jhusdhui or 'j' for short. My pet names for him though are kittenwhiskers, kitten, kitty, or wigglebum, because he, you know, wiggles his bum when he's happy.

I prefer to be referred to as "Miss" or "Miss Rumpus" by one owned or in service to me. To them, what I call them depends on the relationship and what comes naturally to mind in speaking to them. Most of the time, if not just using their name, I refer to them by their status or role in our relationship.
