Who is someone you admire over the age of 65- -  either by being or doing something great or doing something you hope to achieve.

Why do you admire them?

If it is a famous person pls post a link so the young folk know who you refer to.  If it is your mom/dad/gramma/grampa, no pic required lol.

Yup cos us young folk dont know anyone over the age of 30.

For me,

Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood both of whom I admire because of their integrity and dignity its something so often lacking I think.

Tony Benn, he is amazing and wonderful and its such a shame that we have not got him on the front line of political thinking.

A lady at work, shes 93 and well i cant even explain how great she is and how much I hope that i can live half the life that she has

My mom. She is my oldest living relative. I doubt that I will manage to attain her great age. (And she still does my laundry.)

Colouredin, that's odd, I was thinking of Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood too!!! We must be on the same wavelength!
To those I'd also add Willie Nelson.
Funny, I just *knew* if Kitten posted on this her pick would be someone no-one's ever heard of! lol
You know, "ecclectic."
You could take her to the Texas Roadhouse ("Willie's Place") and she'd try to order "chicken marsialles."
Whatever the fuck THAT is!

Hippiekinkster -> RE: 0ver 65 (12/15/2008 6:38:10 PM)

Um, "Chicken Marsala" is Italian, Popeye. They usually use veal anyway. Kitten is Franzosisch.

My Parents. Back when I was young and dumb and full of cum there were times I hated them, but they never hated me. Quite a task considering my deeds back then.

Absolutely agreed. Cant say I'm a fan of his politics but he's just about the one person from politics that when he speaks, everyone had best shut up and listen.

He will be sorely missed when he goes, and all we are left with is the snivelling little slaves we have in power now and their Tory counterparts due to an electoral system the two of them and their masters just love since it keeps anyone who isnt a snivelling little slave out of it.

My dad.
I've watched him live his life with pride, dignity, ethics and love and now I'm watching him go through the dying process with the same pride, dignity, ethics and love.
I am a very lucky person.

came4U -> RE: 0ver 65 (12/16/2008 8:56:42 AM)

Funny thing I just saw.  Clint Eastwood will be making a movie about Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman starring) "Not a whole biopic, just covering the time when he got out of prison."

Fitness legend Jack LaLanne (age 94) and his wife Elaine (early 80's) are semi-retired retirees here on the Central Coast.  They host a fitness and nutrition segment on the local TV station.  They are both still active and fit in body and mind.
