Some years back, an unsuccessful submissive once asked me why he wasn't making any inroads with the dominant women to whom he was trying to serve. I listened to him over a bunch of different conversations (I knew him through a bdsm group where I was once an officer), and what kept coming up was something that I've managed to make my own, and I think most good submissives tend to make their own: If you ask a woman what she wants, actually go through the work of making it happen once you find out. This may sound really silly, but you'd be shocked at how many men don't make it to step two because of this, thinking that merely "asking" is good enough. Quite often, the "work" involved is more than they want to do, so they cut corners and hope that things work out, and that somehow she'll "remember" how diligent he/she was in asking.
Find out what she wants, and make sure that's what she gets. Put forth as much effort as possible to make sure that she gets the quality product, and not the Walmart discount product instead that was manufactured by people only looking to make the quickest profit with the most customers with less than great materials. (yeah, I know this may start a whole Walmart thing, but let's just leave it at the dorky metaphor and stay with that)
