Gwynssoftandshy -> Silly Lifestyle Stories (12/16/2008 1:00:57 PM)

i realize that this kind of post isn't all that unusual, but it is usually fun, and most of the stories shared are about incidents that occur during scenes.  i thought it'd be nice to have one with stories about things that occur in our everyday lives, just flavored with our own brand of spice.  (If i'm not making sense, it's because i'm truly phenomenally tired today.  i've no idea why.)  So, i'll start us off.

This morning i overslept considerably.  My lady had allowed me to sleep in because, while i do ordinarily talk in my sleep and even move things around on occasion, i was particularly active last night.  Apparently every time she changed positions, shifted, or got up to use the facilities (and that was rather a lot since, in addition to being very patient, she's also extremely pregnant) i sat up in bed and asked her, "May i help you?  How can i help you?"  ~smiles~  Fortunately, i did also respond to her suggestions that i go back to sleep.

Would anyone else like to share?

i walk in my sleep, especially when highly stressed. One time i got up and went into the kitchen. I came back to bed lugging a watermelon, put it in bed between us, and went back to sleep.

It was so cute.. I am in my third trimester so most of my night is up going to the bathroom, shifting me and the tmmy around, sitting up because of acid reflux, or just wandering through the house late at night. I am simply too uncomfortable to sleep all night.

It was so cute that every time I even breathed heavy last night she kept waking up, and asking me "honey what do I need to do?" "how can I help" "what do you need"

Each time I answered with "go night night" Thankfully she listened until the next deep breath or twitch.

She must have woken up 20 times... so today she is my poor little Zombie girl.

*gives you hugs*

Gwyn..compared to being pregnant, lugging a watermelon around is a piece of cake!

But the end result is such a priceless gift

Once I was at a store and my hands were full so I stuck my keys away.  When it was time to leave, I couldn't find my keys.  I checked my purse and pockets; I searched the store; I asked employees to help.  Finally I gave up and called my dad to come get me so I could get my spare set.  Mom and I were waiting on him when she asks me if I had stuck them in my bra.  Of course she was right.  [sm=sigh.gif]  Then I had to tell the employees to stop looking since I found them.  I ended up with having to tell them what I did.  Dad wasn't too happy either.  LOL

the stupidest thing i did in Walmart....i went through the self-checkout, unloading, scanning, cussing, and bagging. I had all the groceries bagged and then paid the total...over 100.00. Then i left.

When i got home i realized something was missing. No groceries!  I actually walked out without them. I had to call the store and run right back in. All the employees were waiting to see who the idiot was that pulled that stunt.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Silly Lifestyle Stories (12/16/2008 2:57:08 PM)

oh oh i did one like that- i pulled up to the drive-in with my um's - ordered the food, pulled up to the window, paid, and drove off.  My kids looked at me as if i was nuts, and asked why they didn't get the food!     Oops - reengage brain, and drive through again.[8|]

my best one was when i got home, took off my shoes and bra, sat down and relaxed into the peace and quiet -    and after a minute wondered why there was peace and quiet   -   as in, where was the kid and confusion!

I had forgotten the little blighter at the sitter, and had to go racing off and apologise to the sitter and the kid (even though she was too young at the time to know that her mother had forgotten that she existed - if even for a few minutes!).

Think I have told this one before. I was working for a company in NY going through the payroll run to make sure everything was correct before making the bank transfer. The phone rings and I answer it. "'Hello, So and So company Cathryn Etc. speaking." Yes this is Officer Such and Such at the Verona Police Department are you the mother of William Etc?"
Oh My Gods what has he done now?
"Yes this is, what's happened?"
"Do you own handcuffs Ma'am?"
Oh CHIT!
"Err. Yes..they actually belong to my boyfriend who is a police officer on Staten Island. They should be locked in the strongbox he keeps his gun in when he visits"
"Well Ma'am your son has come into the station and he is wearing them."
Check the keyring
"I have the spare set of keys here."
"We would appreciate you coming to claim him and the cuffs Ma'am."
Oh Great explaining this to my boss should be fun
"Okay I am on my way, but it will probably take about 2 hours as I am coming from Manhattan."
"Not a Problem Ma;am we will keep him here where he is safe until you arrive."
"Thank you Officer"
Click
Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn
"Umm Boss..I have to go home, Payroll is done, but my son has locked himself in Handcuffs and I have to go retrieve him"
Raised eyebrow
"Go..I don't think I want to know"
Bus ride to NJ..go to Police Station where Bil is happily driving the officers completely Nuts. By the time I claimed him the Officers were looking at me with awe and pity (not sure which was worse).

Such a loving child and so well behaved and intelligent he had picked the lock on the strong box but couldn't escape the cuffs. He learned how to do that later.

i have a bad habit of sliding my cell phone into my bra and occasionally(ok alot of the time)forget where i have put it.
i usually keep it on vibrate. Master usually remembers seeing me put my phone there and takes great pleasure in "helping "
me find it by calling it.

soul2share -> RE: Silly Lifestyle Stories (12/16/2008 6:06:17 PM)

It wasn't me, but rather my sister, that is the walker.  When we were younger, she'd walk all the time....we had bunk beds, and the nitwit would get down on the wall side of the bed, crawl across me, then go about whatever it was she was gonna do...one night, she came back upstairs with an entire package of bologna between two pieces of bread...she HATES bologna.....well, since we were told NOT to wake her, I let her eat it.  The look on her face the next morning when I told her what she'd done was great!!  Then there was the time, at age 16, that my dad had to go get her from the backyard......she was stark naked, (didn't sleep in jammies), outside, yelling at the dogs to be quiet!  He took a blanket outside, wrapped her up and pointed her toward the house......then next day, he told my mom that she had to tell Sis to start wearing something to bed.  I'm not sure who was more embarassed....Dad or Sis!

Me.....I'm full of stories like the ones mentioned......being ON the cell phone while looking for it....glasses on top of my head, keys in my hand......that sort of thing.  Sometimes, I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on tight!  How many of ya'll have gotten up from a chair, walked across the room, and can't remember WHY you got up?  Oh yeeeaaaaahhhhh....that would be me!

trappedinamuseum -> RE: Silly Lifestyle Stories (12/16/2008 6:09:47 PM)

I have horrible eyesight, and it affects my depth perception.  I often run into walls and such, and am usually covered in bruises (and not the good kind).  My night vision sucks.

Tonight, it was dark and rainy when I walked home.  I therefore walked into a lamp post.  My head is still spinning.
