physcsdrk -> Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 3:30:19 PM)

1. People who say they are intelligent in their profiles and make grammatical errors in the same sentence.
2. People who write that they are no longer active on the site in their profiles.
3. People who complain about others in their profiles.
4. People who complain about the site in their profiles.

I just smile and shake my head when I see these things. I know some of these things annoy a lot of the people on here. What are some of the things that everyone else either smiles at or gets annoyed with?

Nendarye -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 3:41:13 PM)

I have only been here a short time but

I am amused at

those who email me from half way across the country, telling me that they read my profile, and then asking how soon I can come see them.

the amount of people who ask questions or advice here on the forums, and then get upset or defensive with the answers that they receive

Most things that annoy me on the forums, I stay away from. And if I get an annoying email, I leave it to Master to take care of.

Geez....after only a short time on this site, I'm going to love this one.

1. People who get "collared" after chatting for a short time with some Dominant or another
2. People who claim within days of being collared by the Dominant listed above that they have been led on and are now traumatized
3. People who claim they are "no limits" but never had any real time experience
4. Subbie hugs
5. People who claim they are highly educated and whose messages are poorly written

Enough for now. I shake my head and laugh as well!

people who call themselves 'true' or 'real'
people who put down others because their way of life is not the same

Yeah get my fare share of those too. And then get the... it's not that fare why you being a snob or bitch?

the amount of people who ask questions or advice here on the forums, and then get upset or defensive with the answers that they receive

I've been accused of this. Actually got pist about a response or 2... but it's not the answer that pist me off. It was how it was stated not what was stated. But hey, Life goes on.

But I think what tickles me the most is. I am Master.. Hear me Roar!.... I can't help but laugh at those. It makes me want to reply with you are Master, watch me ignore you!

As far as totally annoys me..... Is when you say not interrested.... well.. yall know the rest of THAT STORY..... LOL

OK IRISH... that hurt.. it was just something I came up with on short notice as name... LOL
Not to mention.. remember.. I thought I was .. till coming on this site and finding out.. I really wasn't because of improper training... LOL

But I'll get it changed.. as soon as I figure out how to... *S*

ehlovindom -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 6:21:49 PM)

Profiles that ask us to be clairvoyant as they desire taller, shorter, lighter or heavier partners but they never put down their OWN weight and height! Or they won’t relocate and fail to write down just exactly where they live!

Nothing is quite so disappointing as when you look at a person’s profile after reading their touching, insightful or humourous post in a forum, only to find they have one line or less describing themselves! (And a word is mispelled!)

As much as most claim that the essence of the lifestyle should mean an openness and acceptance of diverse points of view, with some people, thankfully the minority, the opposite is true. These are the people who are quick to condemn viewpoints that do not reflect their own attitudes.

There are just as many wannabe Doms as there are wannabe subs, just as many mean spirited people as there are wonderful and caring people on this site.

Liars are not gender exclusive, Dominate or submissive. Lying is a true equal opportunist.

Responding to emails or not responding. Do you respond to the email? Should you respond? “I can’t respond because I get too many!" "It is just plain courtesy to respond." "I try to respond to as many as I can." "Why should I respond if they haven’t bothered to read my profile?"

Being hotlisted or not being hotlisted debate.

OscarHargraves -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 7:27:30 PM)

Hmmm, let's see.......

People who think they are the only ones who are 'real' and if you aren't like them or do things their way then you must be a 'player' or a 'fake'.

People who can't spell, can't write well and then find fault with others and what they have written. (With the exception of those persons who use English even though it is not their primary language.)

The same people above who write an awful profile (spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors and then don't understand why nobody contacts them.

Men (mostly) who are rude, insulting and even vulgar in an e-mail to a lady and then complain because they don't get an answer back from her.

LadyJulieAnn -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 7:48:39 PM)

Amusing:

1) Form letter emails
2) People who send the same form letter email more than once to the same person after some time has passed
3) Different profile names that contain the same complex, obviously stolen from a textbook profile text, and the people who claim the text as their own words

Be well,
Julie

happypervert -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/29/2005 9:17:21 PM)

People who start threads like this in the General BDSM section instead of the Off Topic section

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/30/2005 5:33:38 AM)

People who start topics off with "need advice" which gives you absolutely no clue to what the topic actually is. Is it so hard to write "Trouble with orgasm" or something?

MHOO314 -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/30/2005 5:43:54 AM)

Amusing borderline Irritant:

1. emails and posts with bad spelling and grammatical errors
2. hard to read font color and size
3. emails with emoticons only and nothing else
4. emails that say, "I am the slave you seek" and they aren't even close
5. blank profiles
6. profiles with hard to see background colors

Major Irritants:

1. Doms who say " for you I will submit"
2. Doms who write with some lewd comment to be cute, like because I am a Domme its ok to vulgar?
3. The " I have what you need" line followed by a c*** picture
4. female subs who write asking to serve Me

Aileen68 -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/30/2005 5:51:26 AM)

I get a kick out of the names people pick

yup

and, have you noticed that the majority of dominants out there who (by my standards anyway) are decent, honorable, intelligent and at least somewhat skilled in their mastery ... do not have domlydomdom nicknames?

quote:

4. Subbie hugs

this babytalk stuff always makes me laugh. subbie poo sissy sis huggy huggy

barf.

but nothing ... absolutely nothing ... ever irritates me on this site. not sure why anyone would give the written words of strangers any power other than a good laugh.

1. The word 'sub' unless it refers to a sandwich or an underwater boat
2. The word 'subby'.
3. Assumptions that because my name is capitalized that I am a Dominant
4. Assumptions that all S-types are simpering idiots.

Hohoho -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/30/2005 6:36:25 AM)

My panties get twisted when I see the phrase "wannabe" used as a put-down. How else can one become true/real if they do not wannabe? [:o]

gingersnap7789 -> RE: Things that make me smile (12/30/2005 7:16:42 AM)

One sentence e-mails.

"Hi, how are you."
"Good Morning."
"You're cute."

Oh, yeah, and people who assume that since you gave them an alternative e-mail to send a pic or chat more easily, they can instant message you without asking if it's okay first. Am I the only one who hates that?

No, but for me, if I don't have IMs blocked, then I shouldn't get annoyed when someone IMs.

I started a thread just like this weeks ago. (in OT)
I feel the urge to dig it out and link it.
Perhaps I will.
