Some days it's so hot and cozy that it's to hot, then other times it's been on a long time and it barely even feels warm. It's very aggravating when you're counting on that "burning hot warmth" and it's barely luke warm. It's a SunBeam only like 4 or 5 months old. It's a king size with Duel controllers, and a 10 hour auto off.

I cannot stand heating blankets. Try using a down comforter instead.

check the cord. Perhaps a mouse nibbled on it? I hate 'em. The only thing i ever use are cotton quilts.

You need to pay attention when buying one first off, there are a lot out there that are called 'smart blankets' or something similiar. They heat to a certain point then taper off. I hate them. Try a hot water bottle, very inexpensive and you can knit a neato cozy for them so they're huggable!

If I'm sick in bed all day (as has happened with my health problems), I don't need some blanket telling me it thinks I should be out of bed. Check your wiring, see if it's the type that has "zone heating", check the connection at the foot of the bed, and since it's fairly new, call customer service for Sunbeam. It should still be covered by the standard one year year warranty. They might have some suggestions that haven't been covered here. :) Rain

None work like they say they will. Throw on a heavier blanket and then steal it from whomever your sleeping next to. We love a very cold room while under warm blankets, goose down is great, wool is good if you put something between you and the blanket, and then there is cuddling, but be warned, this made lead to other things, such as blanket stealing.

We've had down comforters, and we have a very thick fleece one, and they don't do any good I don't get or stay warm enough. I've gone to bed fully dressed, socks slippers pants a top and a jacket and the radiator on , and I was still miserable. Forget Sunbeam - the 10 bux you save is not worth it. Go Sealy and it never fails and it works - follow very carefully washing instructions though and do not fold if at all possible. I know its not recommended but I use a Sealy heated mattress pad and heated blanket and for the first time in 15 years am getting over 8 hours deep sleep. Every store I went to originally who sold Sunbeam said they have a very high return rate and dissatisfied customers and all recommended I buy Sealy even the Sunbeam store.

LOL this blanket wasn't cheap, it was like 160 dollars for the king, and it was the only brand we could find at walmart. We never wash our electric blankets, I know you can I just prefere not to bother with the hassle of it. We put it on top of another blanket, and it's never next to our skin or dirty.
