Cool.  I will set my alarm.  In the morning, I will arrive at the car dealer, where I am now a part owner, and inspect and test drive the stuff.   I am sure that YOU the other owner, want me to make sure the car is solid - that for me to use the car on a test drive, for ya know the period of our "loan"  -- will be cool!   i AM SO PUmped!

Another wasste of the taxpayers money.  The unions don't want to give up anything of consequence, the car companies have not been developing cars that people wanted to buy, and now they are going to have Pelosi and Reid dictate what they should produce to "save the planet".  We are going to have a wonderful, GREEN, America under the democrat party but possibly not under an American flag in a couple of generations  of windmill power and electric cars that no one wants to buy or can't afford to buy.  If someone told you that windmill's would be the answer to the energy crisis instead of drilling for oil and gas, and building nuclear plants most people would have put that person in a padded cell.  Hey..we made him President!...
Just pull your car up to the nearest windmill and filler-up!... would be a funny joke if it wasn't so sad.

GM & Chrysler dodging a bullet, but the guns are still loaded. Sounds like it's time for the UAW to get on the bandwagon and do what needs to be done now.

Actually I used to love the little solar powered car in the show Eureka. It wasn't fast, it wasn't sleek and powerful and capable of pulling a loaded trailer truck..but it ran, on sunlight. BP and I are watching the Zen Motorcar and the Tesla Roadster. In 1996 GM prototyped the EV-1 and then shelved it, years before the Prius was a gleam..now they are playing catch up and the first Volts MAY roll off the assembly line in 2010.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda...but didn't.

As for Windpower..I have ridden with BP across parts of California and seen the windmill farms there, churning out electricity without using gasoline to do it. They are not perfect for everywhere, but American Superconductor has built 6 engines for the Navy's testing for an ALL Electric Detroyer. The engines are prototypes, yet we can't get an all electric car off the line. Shamefully enough the widnfarms in the midwest produce MORE electricty than the grid can handle currently. Checkout Popular Science each month. The articles can be foiund there along with this one http://www.popsci.com/bown/2008/product/bahrain-world-trade-center .

Can we afford to be behind the Arab Oil Producing countries in going to alternate energy sources?
