Easy...set aside what capital you have and then call yourself a bank.

I mean...don't we all wish we were one of those great free market/capitalist (sic) bankers enjoying the socialism of this bailout ?

This is the best part of the article:

"Credit, meanwhile, is practically nonexistent and cash flows from commercial property are siphoning off."

Why is credit practically non-existent?

Isn't that what the financial bailout money was intended for, to free up the credit market?

S00000000.   In short, everyone wants money because they dont have enough.

I hope the farmers get the crops in.     The govt has no money.  It takes money from one group to give to another group.  But if every group get money, then theoretically it would be a wash.

As the nutshow gets worse,  there is some good news.   larouches 4 corners plan, was picked up by 30 international journalists.      ....The real story is how many marks it took to buy 1 ounce of gold 1921-1924.   find that chart, and that is us 2008.

Oh nice, these "developers" took a shot at making millions and lost this time so they want our money?
It's the law of supply and demand which I mention so much in here.
Not all of them can be "successful" so they'll just have to go bankrupt.
Sometimes it seems that every guy with a pick-up truck and a trailer towed behind it is a "homebuilder" or "developer" of some sort just like in the late 80's early 90's.
Real estate prices went down in those times too but they recovered *very nicely* a few years later too and with no "bailouts."
We need a "Bailout Nazi" in Washington, "No Bailout for you!"
I really don't mind helping out the auto companies because so many other cos and people would be affected but to help out greedy bastards who use illegal alien labor is never a good thing to do.
They're just not sympathetic characters.
Bailing out the auto companies should be the end of this stuff!

A friend of mine had this to say about the situation:

"I'm gonna make myself into a bank. My Husband can make a deposit in me and then I can apply to the FEDs for a bail-out!"

I am amazed at the empty houses "developers" have built and currently on the market. Or development/real estate groups, the shit has to stop somewhere...
Sprawl is a huge problem and these developers are 90% of the problem, both in the retail and housing sectors. Sprawl is a contributer to pollution/"global warming" from people driving further and more land being paved over for roads and parking lots. Rain doesn't soak into pavement, run-off has all sorts of fun crap in it. Those huge parking lots reflect tons of heat into the air, makes the area hotter. So in my opinion, make these "developers" shoulder a large portion of enviromental clean up/"greening" of America. I bet the local mall can have quite a few solar panels on them, a good place to start. And no money to bail them out, they pay for this themselves. Rant/writing off into left field over now.

i wanna bailout too!!  gimme gimme or i'll hold my breath and turn blue and threaten to destroy the economy!!  cub showed me a mock ad that was on the chevelle site he posts on, it was supposedly from the big three, it said something about  how since the american people won't pay to buy their shitty cars, they'll get our money another way and we can't do shit about it.  basically, that's about what they've done.

Well, let's not forget about local governments that abdicate their zoning responsibilities (and refuse any projects that are pedestrian-friendly).

ah yes, forgot that part. We'll make the blame like 55% developers, 35% lax or non existent zoning boards, and the other 10% unknown "market" forces. This is all just me pulling numbers out of thin air.

Out here on the East End, the spec houses start at 4000 square feet and get bigger...... selling for $3 million and much more. Well - they were a couple of years ago. Now they sit boarded up or packed with illegals that pay rent by the mattress. Down the street from me a contractor put up an 11,000 square foot house without a single permit in place. The neighbors FLIPPED ! it's on a 3/4 acre lot. He blew out both side set backs and is 12 over height. Put on a 3rd floor so the owners could have a view of the bay. We all got together and ratted him out to the town. Right now he has a stop work order and the town told him to take down the 3rd floor. To the left - a 1200 sq. ft. cottage. To the right, a 2000 sq. ft. house..... across the street, another 2000 sq fr house. So totally out of place....... so out of fucking control!!!!!!!!!!!! If it doens't get taken down by law, i have a feeling it'll come down by some other method. Any way - FUCK THE DEVELOPERS - bankrupt them all and the slimy banks that gave them the money to speculate.
