Second Life is kind of over. Two years ago it was cool.

Believe what you will, but I can tell.
I'll not going to share with you the dead give aways.
When I first learned how to discern the difference was while playing in IRC. Then it was NWN after that, and not NWN2 either.
I fully expect a guy to react that way. Its right up there with, 'prove it' and my reply, 'no, I don't have to, not my master, don't have to share with you anything.'

I also am a hopeless recovering sl addict.  I still play, just not like I used to.  If you want I could show you around some of the BDSM world on there depending on what you are looking for.  However, it's like everything else out there.  You and your special someone are only going to get so much out of it before it just gets... boring.

Send me a message if you'd like some help...

I live in Second Life and I love it there.  It is what you make of it, if you have imagination and desire to learn, it can be a fantastic way to meet real life mistresses and subs from around the world.  If you treat it as a glorified chatroom, that's what you'll get out of it.

Learning to build (and Everything in SL is made by the residents) is a steep learning curve, but I mastered it.  Today I built a recording studio for one of my subs for Christmas.

We eat together, go on adventures all over the world.  We bring home food and drinks from the outposts.  Our friends are involved in femdom sims where we go to seminars, dungeons, demos.  I operate a hospital for example and talk about how medical play works in real life and how to rp in SL... when I give workshops in the hospital.

I value the advice I've rec'd from mistresses in Australia and Singapore and heard fascinating stories about OWK from a friend who's been there many times in the last decade. Yeah some of the men are women.. and I'm an real life old lady who is a beautiful young woman there.  So what?

SL is what you make it. For me it's a place where I can fly, swim, adventure and live out my wildest dark fantasies.

Write me on the other side if you want help or advice about SL.

Ok, my curiousity got the better of me and I went and checked out Second Life... and now I'm confused.

I was in a graduate class last year with a professor who was addicted to Second Life, so of course he made it a part of the class. We had to go into Second Life and do an ethnography. Well, he has no idea I'm kinky or anything, so I created a furry character and went in search of furry communities, writing an ethnography as someone who knew NOTHING about the furry lifestyle, but "thought" it was a bunch of people role-playing as stuffed animals (writing the whole thing in an innocent, kiddie seeing the world for the first time). My best friend, who had created a female furry character so she could pal around with me, was in on the whole thing, and when the two of us turned in our papers at the end of the semester, it was SO obvious that the professor realized we had integrated ourselves into a bdsm/furry community and were reporting as if it was an innocent group of people who liked to pretend to be stuffed animals. We even included the sex lingo in an innocent way, so when he read it there would be no doubt on his mind what the "furry people" were saying to us, even though we didn't "understand".

We both received A's for our papers, and our entire department, minus the professor himself, had the biggest laugh ever because EVERYONE knew I was massively into a kinky lifestyle.

I've only spent one day exploring it a bit... I may do more, I don't know yet. The only person I met in there was this really nice girl from Mexico that didn't know anymore about it then me... lol The blind leading the blind there.

But since I really have little else to do with my days it may be a place I find enjoyable. That and maybe I'll check out those NWN social servers since I now know that's where all the male s-types hang out... lol

Has anyone played Sociolotron?  I played for about 16 months, and it was my first exposure to BDSM.  i didn't even know the game had BDSM, but it turned out a large majority of the people were into it.  It was a great community of folks.  I was so nervous the first few times I played - I totally thought all the players would be disgusting pervs that would hunt me down in real life.  What I learned is that, yeah, they were pervs, but these kinky people were normal folks just like me and it was tremendously liberating.

Socio is a quite small community, and I got to know many people on quite a close level.  And I can confidently say that the people playing were at least 50% women.  Surprised the hell out of me.  And I agree with Aszhrae - it's actually quite easy to tell most people's RL gender.

I'm sad that Socio's population has dwindled so much.  It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Greetings!

I'm only now getting started with figuring out Second Life. Someone has turned me on to it, and I'm finding it a fascinating concept. And I'm VERY new to it! I was wondering if there are BDSM Lifestyle private regions, or if there is some other Lifestyle specific virtual wold on-line somewhere?

I am beginning a long distance relationship with someone very special, and it seems this sort of thing could help us deal with the long distance issues.

Anyone know anything about any of this?

I view second life not as a game but as an online social environment..... There are BDSM related and specific regions a search using the search tool will help you find many of them... Just go in realizing that many people use Second Life and online to do the things they wouldnt in real life.... If your using it to keep closer to someone you already know in real life I dont see any harm....

Im very familiar with second life being used as a tool in existing long distance relationships, just dont get attached to anyone you meet there it is mostly men playing women or people in a variety of lies .... Also like i said its mostly people that are living out fantsys they wont do in real life they arent people in the lifestyle.....

Being a girl online is a rarity still but becomeing more prevalent.... Ok back to Wow lol

to be or not to be thats the virtual question.

No where is this more true than Second Life and World of Warcraft

If you use it to interact with someone you physically know, it can be a wonderful tool to stay in touch and feel connected.

But that smokin' hot chick coming on to you that you don't know IRL...is probably me...  [;)]

Wait....youre not a smokin' hot chick???

IronBear -> RE: Virtual On-Line "Lifestyle" Wolds? (12/26/2008 3:40:22 AM)

I just had a peek at second life and whilst it is probably ideal for many it is not my thing. I don't pay monthly fees for gaming and I do not play on line games anyway. hand eye cordination is not what it used to be and my typing skills is too slow. Can't compete with the young ones with Top Gun speed and abilities. Strewth it's bad enough when I used to go to chats and got abused for taking too long to reply.. Back to the drawing board to design and build dungeon gear and make incenses and candles for my on line shop and of course planning my regular escapes to go fishing.

Surata -> RE: Virtual On-Line "Lifestyle" Wolds? (12/26/2008 7:36:54 AM)

There are two places in particular on Second Life that are good almost strictly for casual goofing off; Bondage Ranch and BDSM Playground.  The Sanctuary is a BDSM themed nightclub that is almost always packed with chatters.  I know this because I not only used to chat within the game, my avatar was also a theme dancer at two in-world strip joints.  *laughing*

When I wasn't going to clubs or play areas to talk to people (I never actually engaged in play with anyone there), I was attending classes at universities from around the world, attending discussion groups on various subjects lead by people I'd never have met otherwise, checking out recreations of historical places I'll never be able to go to, doing things for charities across the globe...  It really can be beneficial once you figure out exactly where you're going and what you want to find.

We mess about in Second Life and have got to know a few people on a more personal level. For a lot of people it IS their entire D/s/bdsm world.

We look at it like a glorified chatroom where we waste a bit of time. It's too much of a stretch to get into virtual pain though, for us.  All the same , we find it amusing.

We know of a couple that are in the US and UK respectively and spend a lot of time together in SecondLife. It's part of their means and ways but not entirely, as they also use the phone and snail-mail etc.

It's an aquired taste and a time-consuming way of interacting frankly, but it seems to give many people a lot of pleasure. Everyone looks as hot as hell in a cartoon kind of way, which adds to the erotic for lots of folk....lol

YoursMistress -> RE: Virtual On-Line "Lifestyle" Wolds? (12/26/2008 10:57:03 AM)

I have been on Second Life for almost 2 yrs  now (as a woman), and discovered BDSM there for the first time about a year ago.  After goofing around a bit, I  unwarily submitting to an Eastern European Domme who was never on line and just tried to lock me up while she was away.  I ultimately found a wonderful couple (D/s) who adopted me, first as sub to the sub and then sub to the Domme.  My Mistress there has been teaching me many aspects of the BDSM lifestyle, helping me to find my own desires and now guiding me through integrating my fetishes into my real life.  She continues to advise me about signing up on here and other gathering places, attending events and even meeting with potential real life Dommes.  It's certainly not the best environment for everyone, and may be addictive, silly or boring for some.  For me, it has been a gateway into a hidden part of me that I am enjoying immensely, and for that I am very grateful.  [:D]

Hmm, I still need a signature.

Aszhrae -> RE: Virtual On-Line "Lifestyle" Wolds? (12/26/2008 4:46:33 PM)

Personally,
I don't want fantasy. Since being with mistress and master is only servicing them by chores and laboring. I miss the experiences I so enjoyed with my first mistress and I want that back again.
Virtual, unless it can satisfy my sensory needs, is of little interest to me now.
Much rather have real than Memorex. [:)]
