Actually, according to a theory worked out by one math professor, predictions can be made based on certain mathematical formula.  According to his theory, the future can be calculated based on trends that have occurred in the past, since the one constant is human behavior.

So, in theory, any one of the predictions we have made in this thread, while extremely unlikely, has a chance to happen.

1. Obama will be sworn in January 20th, the stock market will recover for approximately 2 weeks afterward and then drop again
2. January 22nd I will be celebrating something alone as Master will once again be out of town.
3. February 6th I will be cooking like a fiend
   
4. February 7th Greedy Top and Da Pirate will have a wonderful wedding
5. February 7th Many people will meet for the first time from CM and will head off for an evening of chat and play at the Woodshed after the wedding
   
6. The pessimists who post to these fora will continue to blame the new administration for the mistakes of the past administrations.
7. The stock market will tank again..GLOBALLY
8. Companies will find that ALL countries are now demanding their fair share of taxes from them and begin to pull back to home shores and paying taxes where they earn most of their money.
9. Many companies will file for Bankruptcy, looking to restart as new companies but sans the debts of the old...some will be denied the protections of it and instead be forced to restructure debt and fulfill contracts with their employees.
10. Health care in the US will continue to languish behind the rest of the world leaders, but some major changes will be made
11. Free trade will undergo some modifications and companies that outsource will lose tax credits here
12. The Patriot act will be revisited in 2009-2010 and some of the Freedoms this country fought for will be returned. The Constitutional Rights will be returned to Citizens.
13. Someone will make an attempt on President Obama's life. It will fail.
14. the Stock market will begin to recover
15. China will face riots, revolution and economic backlash from the contaminated products shipped to the rest of the world.
16. Movie and Concert Attendance will be down but DVD and Game sales and rentals will be up. Many distributors will move to the simultaneous release via DVD, cable and theater method to keep their sales up.
17. Stem cell research will offer answers to several devastating diseases and to transplants
18. Taxes will rise...State by State, property taxes and sales taxes the most drastically
19. There will be at MINIMUM 3 Hurricane landfalls that do major damage, 1 flood, 6 tornadoes, 2 wildfires, 3 earthquakes ( only 1 U.S.) 2 droughts, and 3 major blizzards this year as well as 1 Volcanic Eruption of major proportion. 
20. The Human race will survive, go on and continue to mate as usual..including the people here in CM.
