It's bullshit.  you might get a message from a model hot domme.  I have.  And you might get a message from overseas.  But both is rare.  And especially from Africa.  Land of scams.

Sounds like you have legitimate concerns, ass1.  I am not on that side so I have not experienced anything like that.  But I have a legitimate concern as well.  Dozens of horny little teenager wanting a true Dominatrix, like myself, to commit to helping them "get off" - all in the name of "a submissive lifestyle."  For you gentlemen, the site may be full of models or international scam artists - but for the Dommes the site seems to have more than its fair share of horny little pervs who truly belittle this lifestyle.

I wish you all the best in your search for your own truth

i am not sure here, but maybe i am going crazy. The past few months i have had many so-called Dommes or Mistresses contacting me that are either living in Africa (usually Ghana or Nigeria) or visiting, although their profile says the USA. Doesn't that strike anyone as rather peculiar? Also, there are plenty of new, very beautiful young women joining as dominant females but asking for a boyfriend. While i chat with them, they don't seem to know anything about bdsm. They always tell you to join a paysite in order for you to be able to see them. Is this site now full of scam artists? Are they true Dommes or simply models pretending to be what they aren't?

Maybe it's the type you contact?  If you contact by looking at pics, instead of reading profiles?   Not saying that about you per se....just guessing.   There is a lot of that on here.

I get the ghana thing on this side too...and suprisingly it's about 50/50, I mean from men and women.  I get sent pictures that are supposed to be of them, they are obviously models, sometimes even other races....you just tell them no thank you and move on, if they continue to harrass, like a lot do....then block them, and move on....nothing even worth your time to concern yourself with.

As far as a "boyfriend" goes, yes I am looking for a boyfriend to do D/s with...I've been doing this off and on since I was 20, so I do know a few things...lol    Many are like me, they want a b/f or a g/f to do this with and advertise as such, because they want to make it clear that they want someone on a permanent basis, with some attachment involved...not just some stranger, who you know nothing about, just to have "something" to train.  The term girlfriend or boyfriend is just a general term that everyone understands.

Personally, I don't care what "label" is put on it, as long as it's clear that I want not only D/s but a relationship as well...it can be done, I"ve done it before

take your time....read profiles...there's someone out there you click with....just bring it down to earth

Hope your holidays and your new year is a happy one :>

i actually have been online for a very long time, but somewhat new to being active on this site. Actually, some of them live in the USA as well, but always demand i join a site, so that they will get paid. Of course i got wise to it and simply ignore them once i hear either: Western Union or Africa.

What's wrong with you, don't you want to be king of ghana????  I can't wait to get my crown as soon as I send my money....lol

as far as the others that want you to join a site....I just looked at your profile....you not really stating what kind of relationship you are looking for, doesn't tell anything about you as a person, it's just your basic "net slave speak"  Usually those that come complete with "fantasy" and wanting to do cam to cam, are really looking for a pro, or something on a more casual or temp basis.  That is usually where you go if you want something specific done to you.  So that might be another reason that those types contact you.   Hey if you are going to give them instruction and you don't want a relationship...just like going to get your car serviced, they need to be paid for their service to you too.

Just a thought...from what I see

PrincessKaz -> RE: Are They Models or Dommes? (12/24/2008 2:23:15 PM)

You should never have to sign up to a paysite just to see images of someone!

However I for one always take a small deposit if I am either travelling some distance, or putting a day of work aside to meet someone for a paid session. This is simply due to being let down in the past quite a lot and missing out on good jobs due to TW's. I always use paypal or AW as it has buyer protection and paypal clients should knwo if the goods or serviec deosn't show then they will get their money back!

Do other pro doms here do this?

Lynnxz -> RE: Are They Models or Dommes? (12/24/2008 5:13:02 PM)

I should. >.>

I have gotten better at weeding out the wankers before the session though, so it doesn't happen quite as often. When I first started, there were weeks where I'd be stood up 3-4 times a week. :( Now it's perhaps once a month.

Yes this site is full of scam artists. There are more new scam profiles every day than real. What makes you think these "Dommes" are even women? In most cases it's some guy working out of a boiler room operation in Africa or Russia simply using a model's photo ripped off of the net. Doesn't matter where they claim to be from, the site doesn't verify any locations.

servant4superior -> RE: Are They Models or Dommes? (12/28/2008 12:28:50 PM)

One thing that always makes me chuckle is when someone list themselves as "Native American" but has a picture of a Caucasian person.  It's funny to think of the cultural misunderstanding that leads them to think that means someone born in the US.  These are often the same people that have their state as something like NewYork but I see them listed as within a few miles of me in San Francisco because they entered the wrong zipcode.

There are a couple of different scams here and on other social/personals sites, though, and I have some personal experience with these types of scammers:

One is more akin to everyday spam, where they just want you to sign up for a pay site. They'll only put in a minimum of effort.  The other, the so called romance scam is ultimately after money for a plane ticket, at least in my experience.  With people wanting to you to join a pay site they may be men or women, it's silly assume they're all men though.  It's just a job for these people so it's probably the same gender diversity you would find at any call center, which his often how they're run.  In fact there's probably a better then average chance that it is actually a woman on the other side operating from a country where they have less employment opportunities.  It won't be the woman in the picture of course, but it's a cliche to think that it's all men doing it.

With the romance scam I believe most of them are actually women.  I've never completely fallen for the this scheme but I've been contacted by people doing it and gone pretty far, short of sending any money, without knowing it was a scam.  It becomes pretty obvious when they ask for $5k for a plane ticket.  Many of them will put in an enormous amount of effort.  Some have called me, some have gone and cam while we chatted on IM, etc.  In all those cases they were women and in the case of the two that went on cam, very attractive women.  The rub, so to speak, is that although many of them are women and some of them even the women in the pictures none of them will follow through except to collect your money, so it doesn't really matter who they are or what they look like.

I got a "native american" one, it was sooooo funny.  He said he was from "merryland, New York"....lol   I love it when they not only mix up cities and states but can't even spell it.  And the pics he sent was of some barely legal gay gentleman, that was obviously from some site.  This guy was wearing a tight half shirt that said "army" on it, and short shorts with his cheeks sticking out...lol   oh did I mention he said these were pics of him in his uniform because he is in the army?.......lol

when I called him on it, he admitted he was in ghana but he lied because this site says everyone from there is a liar and a scammer.....go figure....lol

I wish I could run into those that put in minimum effort...I always get the harrassers.  You tell them no thank you and they just send the next form letter.....I always get the ones that say I know you like me and we will be together so I will not go away, cause you do not mean this........LOL oh really?....lol    famous "last" words....lol

To the OP..you are being scammed ....

MsStarlett -> RE: Are They Models or Dommes? (12/28/2008 8:20:18 PM)

That same scam chases after everyone on here.  I get photos of a really hot male sub who complains that THIS site, CM, is full of fakers and scammers and telling me all about how much nicer everyone is on some other site.  If I follow the link to check out this new site, it's a pay per view deal.  If I continue to speak to 'hot sub guy' who is trying to recruit me to switch sites, I normally ask for another photo of 'him' holding a sign with my name or with a blue star drawn on his body.  They normall get all flustered and start squawking that they "Don't have to prove themselves to anyone!"  Scammers.  They come in all flavors.  Even if they don't ask you directly for money, they try to get you to leave our nice free CM site and pay to join another.  What cha wanna bet they get referal fees???

Please do everyone the favor of reporting it before you block. The faster such fraudulent and arrant thieves get booted off, the more opportunity there is for the flesh-and-blood humans to use this site as intended.

I can't believe this thread exists.

It makes me want to be an internet scammer... apparently, there's a market!

Oh, there's one born every minute.  If you send me money for a plane ticket, I'll come over to New York and explain how you can part these fools from their money.  Economy is fine: wouldn't want you to think I was trying to rip you off.  *nodnod*

I am not a model, nor do I ever expect to be one either...lol. If it is too good to be true, it usually is.. most of the scams are phillipines and Nigerin based, although I have seen a few from france
