theobserver -> It's Xmas Time (12/23/2008 3:21:18 PM)

and I'm feeling introspective. I wrote on my blog the rawest feelings I'm going through. I dunno ... I've told myself that I'm indifferent to this time of year but ... I guess, I'm just bitter.

Sometimes I just need to be honest about things. I don't know why I chose collarme to say this ... maybe it's because I know people here are more honest than anywhere else I've seen online.

Merry Xmas!

Until next time, check out my Xmas playlist ...

Bitter and holidays go nicely together, but there's so many more groups than just those two to select from.

Try this.

I am quite bitter this year, myself.... Things are too differant, and I am having a hard time dealing with it.  But if you need to talk, or just let anything out, my inbox is always open.  Feel free to drop a line.  [:)]

And try to relax, take a deep breath, and think happy thoughts.  Merry Christmas

I am not a fan of Christmas. However, I have people in my life that I love more than I have words for. Those people deserve to have a happy cheerful mother/grandmother/whatever.... help make Christmas wonderful for them. So, I just suck it up and focus on the good stuff. I can bah humbug after it's over, by myself, with a bottle of good red wine and a movie.

GreedyTop -> RE: It's Xmas Time (12/24/2008 10:55:08 AM)

Yes, X 3. My son has two boys, ages 4 and 5. The two T's (T for terror) and my daughter had her first, a little girl, this last summer.

I'm not jaded nor bitter (December's usually the time when I let things go, including all the negative feelings) but about a month ago I admitted to feelings of 'battle fatigue' over the last year so I dropped out of my characteristic voluntary work with the homeless and decided that I needed some time out to recover and regenerate myself, hence I'm out of circulation. I get a little over two days of peace and solitude before I return to life after the Christmas period.

I realize that I'm not the only one 'in recovery' and that there are many people out there who either don't have enough money, who are struggling with illness, family issues, broken relationships, loss of employment, of livelihood, and all the other examples of adversity which go to make up this experience we commonly call life.

To these people I also extend my thoughts, prayers, warmth and hugs and though maybe not so merry or happy, I wish all those affected a speedy recovery and a restoration of more favourable circumstances leading to healthier, happier and better times in the coming year.

*hugs*

stella
