I recently had an experience that went slightly wrong and left me convulsing. Fortunately Stephen is trained in first aid and was able to deal with the situation without having to call an ambulance. Has that put me off breathplay? not at all, though it has made me understand how easily this kind of play can go wrong.

While I enjoy the sensation of his hand wrapped around my throat, I panic very quickly if deprived of air flow, so I've avoided this type of play.  It just plain scares me.

I love a rather lame form of breathplay which is simply a hand covering my mouth.I also don't mind having my nose pinched off either as long as it is only for a couple of seconds.But choking is out as is bagging.Clamp a hand across my mouth and i am in instant subspace.

I have recently experienced breath control and can't believe the feeling it gives me..it scares me but i trust the person who is doing it completely.  Wouldn't dream of letting someone new try it on me though...it is all about the trust.

I've never really done it much besides just holding my breath for someone till he told me to release it.  It was fun and kind of intense and gave me a weird combination feeling of relaxed and exhilerated at the same time.  And the mental aspect of someone controlling when I get to take my next breath is very hot. It was enough to make me want to go into it on a more serious level, like having my mouth and nose covered with a hand, or having my throat squeezed for a minute or two. Then I did some reading on it.  It was a Jay Wiseman (spelling?) piece.  After reading that, I will most likely never experiment with it again, on any level.

i LOVE breath control play. i have only ever trusted two Masters to do this as they were as fully aware of the risks as i am.

The biggest issue about breath control play is not taking it seriously. Even though play may not get to the point where the sub passes out - there is always the risk of a clot forming anywhere in there body and stopping the heart. Always make sure you play with someone who is fully trained in CPR.

i absolutely adore breath play.. i tend to hold my breath anyway when i orgasm so losing my breath when his hands are around my throat just gets me there faster..

I use a mixture of breathplay and the threat of loss of air/blood flow by tightening my fingers around a submissive's throat with my palm pressed more against the artery than across the throat, though it is pressed there.  I found with my last two submissives that this alone seemed to heighten the stimulation and their orgasm.  With several submissives, I have found it to be particularly effective when I was behind them, pushed deep inside either their cunt or ass and then, press the arm I had against their throat against their throat a bit tighter for a bit when they were close to cumming. 

As someone noted, with the right person, it is as much a matter of knowing they could...and might indeed do so...as the act itself.  As a healthcare professional, I balk at playing with it as far as I have seen some do and yet, I play it much further than I did with my first submissive.  I am aware of the risks and so avoid doing it at a point where it could not be stopped easily and I avoid putting a submissive in a position where she could do it to herself with me unaware of it.

I do also enjoy the sensation of having Master's hands on my throat during play. However, holding my breath for any given amount of time makes me panic a LOT. I've had a few bad experiences as well that only serve to make it worse. Sigh. I would like to get over my fear of not breathing but im not sure where to begin.

We are aware of the risks.. and it still "does it" for us.

I like breath play, but not all forms of it. I've came close once to passing out and it was very interesting feeling and hearing the changes around me as I was about to slip, but just before I slipped I was allowed to breathe.  Sir and I did breath play together for the first time the other week and it was wonderful. if i were to have more severe breathing problems then i do then i am sure my love for breath play would diminish....i have asthma and this can be quite troublesome under certain weather conditions and when there is high levels of pollutants and or house dust. i use the usual inhalants and then to all intents and purposes i breath normally so breath play is simply that: a kink and play.
