angelikaJ, Thank you for posting this. A great loss. She was a woman capable of exuding a phenomenal sensuality. I have two thoughts to share about her. The first is the report that when she was performing in europe in the 50's Orsen Wells was quoted as saying: "She is simply, the most exciting woman in the world." I don't know if this was during or after Wells was married to Rita Heyworth, but he did have a basis for comparison. The second was appearance she made on some late night talk show. She came out to center stage, she pearched on a stool, they dimmed the lights and she sang, just her in a spot. When she was done there was a dead sillence in the place for about 40 seconds before the place burst into applause which lasted until they went to commerecial. When they came back she was on "the couch" with ther other guests one of whom was Mort Saul. The air was still thin in the room, no one knew what to say. Finally Mort Saul spke up and said. "I worked one nightclub with a female singer who used to move a lot and do a lot of business during her songs so I asked her why. She said to me. "Well, what else can you do out there?" Mort Saul then said, "I hope she is watching, because now she knows." Eartha Kitt was an exceptional woman, no doubt about it. Outlier
