My personally built, lovingly cared for, absolutely perfect computer is not a he but.....
A SHE!!!
How do I know this you may ask.
The evidence is pretty overwhelming.
Wed, I began the process of adding a much needed additional hard drive, a brand new SATA 1.5 TB Seagate, as well as a new 120MM Cooling fan with this pretty blue glue light in it.
I rebooted the computer and all of a sudden, my DVD burner had vanished!!
Now, I initially put this down to the simple fact that HAL (named for the psychotic unit in 2001) has quite often pulled these little tricks....
But, then two seconds later, the power supply went *POOF* with a little puff of smoke and flash from inside the power supply case, and of course HAL went into a coma.
Today, new power supply, (by this time I was beginning to suspect the pc was actually a female, she was showing the same attitude my first wife had, the one that put cigarette burns on my son's arm before I got custody of him)
Booted up, still not dvd
Ran through all the windows fixes... no luck.
Then I did the most illogical, stupid, insane, backward thinking thing in the world, I reversed the order of the cable select plugs between the dvd and a cdrom on that controller...
Now, on wed. there had been no reason to touch these two plugs, so, I never touched those cables in my first mounting of the new drive.
Now then, with the above presented evidence, it is clear that this particular computer has been masquerading as a male, when in fact it has been a devious, sneaky femputer just waiting to pull some insane plot in order to make me doubt my sanity, BUT, once more I have proved that I am already insane and can see through any such consparacies!
GEEK DOMS OF THE WORLD UNITE! THE GREAT FEMALE CONSPARACY TO TAKE OVER THE CYBER WORLD NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!!!
BUT THEN I MAY BE HAVING PARANOID DELUSIONS
