My thoughts:  Sure maybe he would have supported/done this if he were alive - - BUT HE'S DEAD.  Good lord, we're going to impersonate his voice (which was a bad impersonation, btw) and put up a blurried vision of him looking like he's saying something he's not?  Seriously, we couldn't find someone ALIVE to do this??

If you want to pull out work he's already done, words he's already said, images he's already created - go for it.  But this, I feel, is in poor taste.  Then again, I never had much respect for Yoko anyway...this does not surprise me.

I like Mark Rawden's take on it:  http://www.cinemablend.com/music/Ono-Licenses-Lennon-s-Image-14290.html

"Honestly, I know she was married to Lennon, but she shouldn’t own his memory. If I die and my wife agrees to let PETA use my writing to get the masses to stop eating bacon, I’ll come back from the grave and strangle the bitch with my bare hands."

Yes I agree, not much difference who it is (famous or not) that is exploited.  It is no different that changing the personna or story of a legacy of a grandparent (or any other loved one) into something it isn't.

I certainly wouln't want to be in the grave and my future great grandchildren use that current technology to place me in positions that I have not been to nor consented to.

No one can predict the future in that he could have foretold her 'do not use me in commercials' but, if he didn't do them alive, why would anyone assume he would 'allow' this (or any other use)?  Mayhaps he would prefer to feed the hungry not give them laptops knowing their very basic needs of shelter and medicine are not taken care of first. I understand education is important, but honestly, a chalkboard and a few pencils go a lot further and would allow plenty of extra funding for essential immunizations and clean water, etc.

This just goes to point out how old we all are.

It started the first time I heard the Beatles played as elevator Muzak. Now what I like to hear is only played on 'classic rock' sources.

I bet there are many here who are wondering what all the fuss is about if a old Russian revolutionary being used in a commercial.

Just remember, someday it will happen to you and you'll notice 'Snoop Dog' or 'Beyonce' Muzak, playing Vegas, and doing Infomercials.
