ORIGINAL: Owner59 Oh the Sharia law in England thing again.....yawn.... Hey cory,.........how did you feel about Bush reestablishing Sharia law, in Iraq? As razed as you are about this? Doubt it. It's amazing to me that I was hoping to have some discussion about views that people had, if any, on the good Dr. Rowan Williams and his thoughts on Shaira Law being a parallel system in England, and George Bush comes up in the conversation! Using George Bush to change the subject is like modern day comedians with nothing to say in their act using the word fuck to get a cheap laugh from the audience. It's going to be a one way conversation after Bush leaves office and people don't have him to kick around anymore. On second thought than we will probably be hearing about the "legacy of George Bush". You are absolutely correct..."yawn". Not really amazing. American conservatives have been demonizing Islam, using fear, hate and loathing for years now. The Sharia law thing in England is just part of this and old news.Yawn.... ~~~~~~~~~~ The common denominator here is American conservatives, bush,Sharia law and hypocrisy. We should give a fuck what the English might want to do(regarding Sharia),but mention that American conservatives took an active role in actually establishing hardcore Sharia law over millions of Iraqis(who before had a secular government,ie religious freedom)and my god, mouths start to foam. If it bothers you about England, why no concern over the poor Iraqis who must now live(and die) under Sharia law? I heard recently that 2000 Christians had to vacate a town they`d lived in for generations under the threat of death,by religious fundies there.Something that didn`t exist before we invaded.Mission accomplished. The complete and utter failure that is bush and the Iraq invasion leave very little room for cheap laughs,I`m afraid. "It's going to be a one way conversation after Bush leaves office and people don't have him to kick around anymore. On second thought than we will probably be hearing about the "legacy of George Bush". " Not really. It`s going to take at least a decade or more to recover from what bush has done. The damage to our economy, our army, our good name and reputation are going to outlast bush by many many years. No,when bush leaves office, his legacy or rather his pathology, will be with us long after and topical. When you use the words"kick around anymore",it sounds like you`re suggesting that the criticism bush is getting is unfair. That`s puzzling. That conservatives are attempting to hide from their responsibility for reestablishing Sharia law in Iraq(a major fuck up),now that`s amazing.
