ORIGINAL: Termyn8or jlf, nicely done. Yes there is something else. Tennis shoes with lights in them. If you can splain that one you da Man. T Easy, tennis shoes with lights were originally designed for those people who jogged at night, so that drivers could see them. The fact that some actually never need new batteries is from the old piezoelectric principle involving pressure. Now, as for the fact that these shoes and now, even pants have been taken down to toddler size, there is even more to the story. As soon as the toddler notices the flashing lights, he stops looking at where he is going, thus setting up the nice possibility of humorous Kodak moments. In my home that has meant that my grandson has tripped and face planted in dog food dishes, the dog water bowl, a flat floor with nothing to trip over, walked into cabinets, missed the main hallway by a foot and walking into the broom closet... Now, Tommy, my grandson, shakes it off, laughs and goes on his merry way. He inherited the Franklin thick skull. Before you ask, the tennis shoes with the built in skates came out of California, and were probably designed so that skaters didnt have to waste time changing into skates. The tennis shoes with only one wheel in the heel were designed so that our children will get out of the habit of walking in public and just rolling around on their heels.... By the way, I was privileged to see three such equipped children fall down three steps in a restaurant, having failed to stop and actually walk. The parents were angry at the management, until one of our local District Attorneys pointed out that the management was not liable for the stupidity of their children (in those words) who failed to stop rolling and start walking. By the way, this DA was eating lunch with his family including four children who ranged in ages from 6 to 13, all of which thought the entire incident was supremely funny, and agreed with their father. These children were also so equipped but seemed to handle walking and rolling with equal proficiency even to the point of walking up the steps, rolling to the manager and saying that the meal was very good, and they apologized for the clumsy behavior of their peers.... I think these children are pod people.................
