Try this website sj.blacksteel.com, there the person talks and shows pictures of different straightjackets. Also he explains how to make one. Sorry no patterns. But maybeif you email him he can let you know where to find one. The whole website is about nothing bur straight jackets.

You could try Etsy. Some of the designers on there sell straight jackets and you might be able to message one directly and ask for details.

If you are looking for a pattern mainly to get the shoulders and basic jacket dimensions right. You could try getting a sewing pattern for a blue jean jacket. then just lengthen the sleeves, put the zipper on the back instead of the front , then add strapes for the sleeves, crotch and where ever else you want.
This is just an off the wall idea, sorry if it doesn't help

i dont think that's an off-the-wall idea at all, starting with a regular jacket pattern like that is probably the best idea. the ones on etsy and such are uuuuusually more stylized fashion thingies (unless that's what you want)
they'd probably be functional for a while but most of them are made of like sweatshirt fabric which may not hold up well to struggling (if there's going to be struggling) and since that fabric has so much give in it, escaping from it wouldn't be hard. institutional ones are made from pretty thick canvas so that you CAN'T wiggle around and get out
or well... houdini could, and what... there's some sort of arm twisting maneuver you do... anyway you get my point =p

Some costume companies have straitjackets now  as part of their halloween stock. conceivably you could get one of those then use the pieces on a stiffer material (canvas, denim, cotton)

A friend of mine made a "poormans" straight jacket by sewing  the legs of a pair of heavy jeans, added a back part, closed off the legs and secured with velcro. It just wrapped around the torso, but you couldnt move. not as confining as a full jacket, but fun all the same

Not sure what you have in mind for a straitjacket, but an idea that was passed my way was to try making one out of silk, maybe? From what I heard, its a durable material. And, it stays cool too....

Now about the patterns, may I suggest the site www.theduchy.com   ???
His site is pretty good, and it gives advice right down to measuring the exact size you want. I printed off the directions at one time, and started to make one out of pvc. i wasnt too successfull unfortunately, but the directions were clear and concise I highly reccomend him...

Actually....
Now that I mention it, I may just try again soon, now that I have more of an understanding of what I did possibly wrong. Perhaps I will try pvc again....
