Thank you everyone, for your encouragement, support and kind words. I realized I perhaps phrased it wrong, and it wasn't me that failed but the attempt. As it happened the barman at the pub was happy because they could prepare the room for tonight's New Year's Eve ball, so I guess everything cancelled itself out.

There could be so many reasons why that I felt it best to not ponder over them but just accept things the way they were. Last night I sat with Ala and we talked about it, and we realized that maybe we could leave it for now and try again at some point in the future when circumstances may be more favourable.

I suggest you let people enlist themselfs next time. 14 days upfront. So you know if they come :)

I would recomend that stella, I run a munch its tiny and really only people I know and personally invite turn up and often its just me and a pint but hey its a night out ;) good luck if you try again :D

I looked at your munch when it was advertised on IC and here but it was too far away for me to get to, and an inconvenient time.  I thought the place looked amazing that you had decided to hold it at.  You shouldn't be so down on yourself Stella, it's a financially tough time of year and with people probably saving up to go out tonight instead, ,mighthave just been the wrong date to try and hold it on as they couldn't afford both nights.

One thing I have noticed is that everyone ttends to hold their monthly events at the beginning of the month, and for those people like me, with sparse babysitting offers and limited money for luxuries, we have to miss out on events left right and centre.
