Would you be ok for a servant to leave you for personal reasons like real life career reasons or would you feel betrayed

I wouldn't feel betrayed. If in leaving, someone I cared for was doing something to enhance themselves or their life, I'd be happy for them. I'm in a relationship because I want to be .. not because I need to be and I wouldn't feel comfortable having a partner who felt different.

If anyone tells you they can answer that question without knowing the details, they're lying to you.  The only answer you should accept from strangers with no information at all is "that depends."

I am going to assume that this is after a time of being together-now is the assumption also that the relationship is ending as in no collar, no leash any longer?

if that is the case--then I would say most likely yes to the leaving for extenuating circumstances of which career aspirations can be one.

My role as a Dominant/head of a family is to ensure that everyone is able to grow to their full chosen potential, that to Me means providing the opportunities to do so. As we evolve, things change, our desires for career, family etc take on different looks as we go through life.

Does it mean that the collar has to be removed---THAT depends, the world is not as big as it once was, maintaining a relationship with distance if desired can be accomplished.

That's going to depend on what kind of relationship you have.

I would hope the situation was discussed and a request was made. Perhaps, the Mistress/Master may not relinquish permission write away. He/She may be trying to figure out a solution. If the slave was to up in leave without a discussion or at least a certain time period after the discussion, then the Mistress/Master would feel betrayed. She/He would feel their was a relationship reason and slave never truly trusted Her/Him in the first place. I am not a Mistress/Master but know I would feel betrayed and lied to if a solution wasn't first sought after. This is not a Mistress/Master relationship problem. This happens in the vanilla world also with the same feeling arising from it.

Some will, some won't. Just like everything else. Some will decide that it works better if he stays home and takes care of the house and yard, some will pick up and move with him, some separate. Some agree to a LDR for a while, some don't.

Kev you really have to start thinking outside the box, life carries a multitude of choices, not just either or. People who care about each other work things out.

Depends on the circumstances for me. There are some things that come before any relationship for me. I would think it's that way for any healthy adult.

From a generic standpoint, I would be sad but I dont see me ever standing in the way of another human doing the next right thing for themselves. Within a specific framework, each dynamic has to work out exactly what their affiliation could or could not withstand.

CalifChick -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 6:50:03 AM)

I don't know what kind of work you plan on doing, but my employers certainly don't know about my personal life in that way.

My private life is private.  My employers know nothing of it---nor will they.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 6:53:07 AM)

office work . i had a job. they told me that one of the reasons at the end they were terminating my contract was because i was seen going into internet cafes on breaks. they never made an issue of it said that i would be fine it wouldnt be an issue up to the last moment but then told me
and  it was.  i was misled but it was no less painful for that

to the OP - why do your employers need to know about your private life?  I work full time and am still fully involved in the lifestyle outside of work.  Any 24/7 type relationship can be tweaked to allow all parties to do 'nilla work...why can't yours?

I don't know what kind of reputation internet cafes have in Ireland... if it is one of "seedy sex joint", then don't go to them during working hours.  I have a feeling though, that was just an excuse to terminate your contract and not the real reason (unless they do, indeed, have a bad reputation).

i guess the fact i was on probation didnt help but i really should have known. i guess i was naive once bitten twice shy wont get bitten again thats for sure
kevin

CalifChick -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 7:03:21 AM)

It would be nice (morbid curiosity and all) to know why going into an internet cafe is wrong.  However, that appear to be irrelevant as you've already made your decision.  Are you going vanilla?  Going chaste?  Never going to touch the big weenie again?

myotherself -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 7:05:17 AM)

ok - I guess the bdsm stuff intruded too much into your work life.  Maybe some negotiation with your Domme where she backs right off during work hours so that you can concentrate on that and not on her might work?  Maybe get her to text you, and pick up your texts at pre-arranged times (to coincide with breaks, for example)?

It just seems to be a shame that you have to choose between your Domme and your job...where there's a will, there's a way!

lobodomslavery -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 7:06:00 AM)

when i get set up in life i will again but i will only go vanilla when i get a job, not likely to happen anytime soon the way the economy is going
kevin

ALAstella -> RE: Is it ok for a servant to leave his Mistress for personal reasons (12/31/2008 7:17:20 AM)

Kevin, why not kill two birds with one stone, and find a job in an Internet cafe? Wouldn't that be the ideal solution?
