No, this isn't a thread about adult babies.

So my Master has a little head cold. He texts me yesterday that He was feeling bummy, so I offered to make Him some soup. His response was, "no, it's just a cough and I'll be fine." Well alrighty then. So I go about my day to day putterings, grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking.

Well later in the evening I get an email from Him wondering where I've been and why haven't I answered my phone/texts. I had left my phone in the bottom of my purse and hadn't heard it ring. So I explained and asked if He needed something. He says "You know I'm a big baby when I'm sick and I need some nurturing."

He went from "It's just a cough, I'll be fine, to I'm sick and need some nurturing." LOL!

Anyway, so I was thinking that every guy I've ever known, including my Dad, is the biggest baby when they get sick, even if it's just a little blah sick.

For the s-types out there with male doms, are they big babies when they get sick? Do you have to do anything extra special to take care of 'em during this time?

What about male s-types? Are you a big baby when you're sick? I just wondered if being submissive and/or service oriented might make a difference.

And with that thought, what about the dominant females? Are you a big baby when you're sick?

When I'm sick, I just like to be left alone..... although I wouldn't be opposed to having someone fix me a feel-good-in-your-tummy meal. I just don't like being doted on.

*Final note - this is a intended to be a light-hearted thread in light of the many serious ones of late, not a complaint about my Master or a man-bashing thread, etc etc etc....

p.s. - He just sent me a text to be at His house at 10:30 with cherry cough drops and Coke Zeros. LOL!

I am one of those, "leave me the hell alone but stay close by just in case, and check on me periodically to see if I am dead" types.

I get annoyed at whiny baby's. My younger brother was and drove me nuts when we all got sick. I can still hear it echoing through my head "moooommmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I don't feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllll gooooooooooooooddddd........" every few minutes.

My mother " I know Brian, we are all sick. Just lay down and try to sleep"

My brother "buuuuuuuutttttttt mommmmmmyyyyyyy, I caaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn't! I don't feeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllll gooooooooooooood! I am boooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeed!"

and on and on

My daughter tried to take that route and always thought I was a mean evil mom. Well, yes, of course I am.

Seriously, it really depends. I've seen Firm diligently work for 36 hours straight when he was seriously ill and should have been resting. I've also seen him knocked on his behind for two weeks with a simple cold.

I think it's in his (dominant) nature to decide if and when he will allow himself to be sick. If he wants to plow through and ignore an illness that would typically put an elephant down, I can only do my best to make sure his needs are met. In the same respect, if he decides he wants a week's bed rest for a hangnail, who am I to question? He's the dom... of both me, and all those nasty viruses and bacteria that dare to cross his path.

Actually, He is not a baby at all. When He is sick, I want to do special things to make Him feel better but He really just likes to rest and not receive any special treatment. Me, on the other hand.........when I'm sick (which I've been since Monday), He tries to take extra special care of me. Actually, though, I'm pretty much like Him in that I just want a "hands-off, please let me rest" kind of approach. It works out well for both of us since we understand how the other feels

No, I know not all men are big babies when sick. Sir is to a point, and probably not as much as what your discriped. My father and late hubby were not at all, and so it took me some time to get use to it.

I have to say that my "type" has always been the annoying ones who refuse to admit their sickness and push too hard to ignore it or pretend they are over it.

Same here, LuckyAlbatross. I'm lucky that my husband doesn't get sick very often, and when he does, he doesn't really complain. I just view it as an extra oppurtunity to service him (which I don't really get that often since he's not really into being taken care of).

I, on the other hand, am a huge baby when I get sick. I want my soup cooked for me, my water brought to me, and to pampered silly.

He doesn't get sick and he bounces right back after a day or two. I'm the one who gets knocked on my ass by a cold.
However I have known a lot of men who do fall apart when sick. I think it comes from the fact that women get sicker than men and more often. This is a known fact based on the changing immune systems of women. Our immune systems are weaker when we ovulate to help sperm fertilize eggs, if the immune system was strong then sperm would be seen as alien invaders and attacked. So because of the fact that our immune systems fall apart once a month, we simply get a lot more colds, stomach bugs, etc. Isn't helped by the fact that we are usually the primary childcare givers and thus get exposed to more. Doubly whammy there.

So women learn to handle illnesses simply because they get so damn many of them. Men don't learn this skill because they don't have enough practice at it. Now, if any man out there wants this cold, I would be happy to mail my germs off. Any takers?

It may not be Healthy but my answer just just about every sickness (Cold, cough, Flu) is a Nice Bottle of Original Flavor NyQuil and 24 hours sleep. I drink the bottle of NyQuil and put myself in a Coma and then USUALLY when I wake up I feel SOOOOOOO Much Better.

Andi Hates it because she can't do it. I can easily just sleep the day away.

Now that we have the Midget I cannot go into full bore Coma cause sometimes Andi needs my Help.

Men are big babies when it comes to being ill. A cold for a man is always flu, man flu = sniffles. Funny thing is most expect you to run round after them, give them pity, mop their brows etc etc. But when its reversed......... i have a cold andive been feeling under the weather. I was supposed to go to an event last saturday but didn't feel up to it so left a message saying i wouldn't be there on a forum board. As a joke i stated i had slave flu. What response did i get? Well we'll have to put you in quarantine!! No offers of soup, cuddles etc etc. Nope just 'we'll lock you away' lol.

Im another one to say yes , a lot of the men Ive come across are big babies, altho I know a lot of guys who have to be dead before they quit

My ex husband was this type. Oh my god....if he had a little cold....it was the "worst cold" and no one has ever "had a cold like this". lmaoo. We used to actually joke around about it. I would make him soup and things like that, but the whining got very irritating. "Ohhh....Oh....ahhh...it hurts.....oh woe is me".....

If I'm sick, I rest if I can and I take care of myself the best I can. If I can't rest, I get the fuck up and do whatever I have to do. Please.

The annual flu will put Daddy down for days and days when he will crawl away and hibernate. Then, he's all better. No doting, just some soup will suffice. I, on the other hand, want to be pampered and loved on. But this won't happen, as he wants to run away and hide when I am sick.

My dad and I are basically the same when we're sick. We're still forces to be reckoned with and how dare anyone bring to light our plight with *gasp* illness.
My son is almost the same. He won't lay in bed and do the whole, "I'm siiiiiiick, Mooooommmmmmmyyyyyy!" thing. He keeps going like the energizer bunny, sans drum. Hehe.

My dad asked me once, "Why is it when you're too sick to move, to find it to get up and start cleaning?"
I replied, "I'm not afraid to die. But I am afraid to die while doing nothing."
Dad nodded, " I get that."
Mom threw up her hands and exclaimed her thickest southern drawl, "Coupla damn'd fools! both y'all!" (she's from NC & GA)

OMG!! LMAO!!! That coulda been Him!

I'm sitting on the side of the bed, boo booing Him and He's telling me about how His muscles in His upper back hurt, etc.... I said, it might be pleurisy. He says, "What's that? Sounds awful." I said, "Well I can't remember exactly but I think when you get a chest cold it can settle in the muscles or something. I've had it before and just let it work itself out."

Him, "Well I feel like I'm dying!"

Me, "Want to come eat some lunch? I brought you something good for your tummy, and some Zero's."

Him, "Oh alright, but I may not make it in there."

He mopes into the living room and grabs His laptop and starts typing while I'm fixing His plate.

Him, "Benjamin Franklin died of pleurisy!"

Me, "Oh how terrible."

Him, "Cardinal Richelieu died from pleurisy too!"

Me, "I thought the 3 Musketeers killed him?"

Him,

Him, "Francis Scott Key and Charlemagne died of pleurisy!"

Me, "Well look on the brightside sweetie, if you kick the bucket, we can add your name to Wikipedia."

At that point, I got the living fire pinched outta me! LOL!

I just sent Him the Youtube video....... I have a feeling I'm in for a world of hurt when He's feeling better! But good grief that was funny.
