OH! Lady H! I wanted to do the Florentine thing so badly that I made myself a pair of floggers. I followed the directions on a web site... They weren't the best directions in the world as they didn't mention a THING about properly weighting the flogs for balance. I had never realized such a thing was important. I had purchased floggers before and had no problems with them. The ones I made myself were aesthetically attractive and functional, but after having a WONDERFUL time beating my boy, my fingers were all bruised the next day! So, I guess that's one more thing I would like to learn this year! I want to learn leatherworking skills to make floggers, whips and basic clothing. Also, cupping and figging are two skills I have not tried yet. The idea of a weekend workshop for Mistresses sounds wonderful, having a few regionals would keep the travel expenses lower.

SAL, trust Me, I am NOT the shibari resource. The flourentine, however, is My style. It's something I could teach you in twenty minutes for the basics. MsS, how in the heck did you bruise your hands? The idea is to hurt them, not you.

With the Taboo coming up on the 17th here in Vancouver. I am really hoping that the master I had a chance to experience Shibari the first time, is there to display his skill with his girl again. Maybe there might be others, preferably a domme. I can still remember falling asleep the first time. It has been a long time. Fire play and Electricity I am keenly curious and hope to see it displayed.

Due to my crazy life/work schedule, experimenting and play has been difficult. Heck, that would be the first thing I'd like to try, just making time to explore and experiment more!! I have a keen interest in animal play, pony in particular, and would love to have the chance to explore that. This talk of Florentine flogging has me curious also. I tend to have "activity ADD" so maybe focusing on one thing would be great.

The leather masters explained to me after I bruised myself that it is important to balance the floggers so they don't injure my hands. Basically, with the unbalanced wooden handles, every time I struck my Westie, my hands were absorbing the force of each blow. I was so far into Domme space (Adrenaline rush) that I didn't feel any pain in my hands at the time. I honestly didn't have a CLUE where the bruises came from until I asked about them. oops No one is born knowing everything!

maybe more medical play stuff ...love sounds by the way but my current mistress does not do it ..oh well [:)] also im not that much of a pain slut ..maybe develop more of a tolerance for pain ..my mistress has whips and canes and she loves using them but like i said im not much into it ..she loves playing with my nipples ..for a guy she says i have some pretty sensitive ones indeed [:)] mal

I would like to learn about medical play and try some scenes. I actually took the initiative and bought the toybox guide to medical play. [:)]

I suppose it would be nice to learn how to use the leather flogger well, and in a way that doesn't arch or hurt places I don't mean to; that thing hasn't been used in about 2 years now. M
