Have you ever noticed that things you need in a room renovation never seem to be in stock?

Knights Edge is out of Medieval cuffs, balls and chains, wall shackles, and those really neat crystal skull things with the built in lights....

Strongblade is out of the Dragon tankards....

and lowes is out of the faux stone wall finishing to for the dark shadows look......

For the faux walls, could you use polystyrene pavers?

Perhaps the masses are buying it.  Order it...it will be in soon enough.

thanks for all the advice....

I at least finally decided on a motif, Dark Shadows, I even found an old picture of Barnabus Collins Room in Collinswood Manor.

the Renstore.com is usually good for tankards and whatnot.  Unfortunately, they don't carry shackles.

Just say the hell with the kink and finish it in eggshell paint.  [:D]

The simple matter is that I have dealt with the 'eggshell' paint my sister decided for the rest of the house.

I made the mistake of going through some salvaged building material a friend had gotten in a very controlled demolition of an old house in the area and came up with four old gaslight sconces that had been converted to electric.

After coming across some pictures from my favorite show as a kid (yes, I watched one soap opera, Dark Shadows) which is probably what got me interested in BDSM.

Anyone familiar with the show, especially the black and white years, will understand what I mean.  Besides, just about every boy from those years wanted to grow up to be Barnibus, he was the coolest thing going.

I dressed up as Barnabas Collins for Halloween when I was in grade school.  Oh, those were the days!  Last year I went as a nun :(

What would be really cool is.. keeping in mind the general idea of an old black and white show You watched as a child.. re create the room in just those shades..
Tones ranging from white..to silvery grays.. to gunmetal grey..to pure black.. and let NOTHING of color enter into the room.. so that when you step into the room..it feels like your walking into the old television set..

JLF...

Master and I are going with this paint...easy on and it can be redone if we decide to move. http://www.daichcoatings.com/rollerrock.html it IS usable on walls not just floors, can be tinted to shades you want, and it is as simple as priming with the base, putting masking tape on and shaping the "stones" (aka mortar) the way you want them with it and then applying the paint. Strip off the masking tape and voila..about 5 hours to completely dry and set and no two "stones" in the pattern are exactly alike if you desire. They have a store locator onsite and will also ship. Best part..completely washable.

I like that black and white idea no matter if done in stone, paint or whatever.
