Did you know that one can go to Google , type in an address , enlarge the map , and then proceed to "travel" down the street and see it as it actually is !? A friend recently told me of this feature , and I just "visited" my old house from 11yrs ago in another state , then my present home ( even saw my car in the driveway ) , along with several friend's homes in various locations . Very interesting - but also abit creepy ... lovelorn exes , and a variety of stalkers can now "drive" past your home, along with the whole neighborhood around it ! An extra reason to exercise some caution before divulging too much personal info too soon- both here, and out in the rest of life .

googlemaps is ok, have done the same but usually the satellite feed is up to a year old. Can see my backyard clear as day and the big tree that is out beyond my fence. Any closer and I could have seen my cat sitting on the fence but the zoom got fuzzy.

Yeah, but you can't see it in real time. It's just a photograph of the street when it was taken. It's not like stalkers are given anymore info than they had before. You could find an address fairly easy before the internet.

Actully been doing that with google maps for about three years now. Their pictures are older then just a year because I put in my address and my road isn't even there yet much less the house I built three years ago. Still just shows a big corn field. Wait its winter time, shouldn't it be covered in snow? That right, they never show any pictures of the area in snow although we are covered in it 6 months a year. Even though its not 100% it does give a good idea of how things are laid out when trying to get directions.

You can actually type in www.google.com/maps/earth/exchic/ and you can find out what that bitch was doing after you broke up! Check this out....I broke up with this chic....she was seeing her English professor....I said..."hey baby...I know what you're up to"...she said "right motherfucker"...I said..."baby I got your number"....(and I did). I typed in "www.google.com/maps/earth/exchic/whodatmotherfuckingEnglishprofessor/7:43pmTuesday"....and there she was.... (I know my computers). (Costs $27.00...worth every penny).

Plain old Google Earth is better for serious stalking anyway. It shows the bushes to hide behind in the backyard, while peering in at you. I've heard some people have sued though, claiming the picture of them coming out of the adult bookstore invaded their privacy or something.

A friend at work told me if you type in "street bloopers" or something similiar into Google, you'll get to see those unfortunate folks doing nefarious things.....one street shot of Chicago showed an armed robbery going...guy pointing the gun at another.....occasionally, if you check around the Valley area here, you'll see a wreck or two....but I know the pics are fairly old, I've lived in my place for 7 months now, and there's still no pic of my scooter in the driveway....my friends car, but no Sunshine! Personally, I like it, since I'm someone who drives by landmarks more than directions....I can go to street level and actually see what it is I'm looking for. Not that I get lost alot, but sometimes, just "misplaced"!

Try typing in a phone number plus the area code. If it's in a phone book somewhere, you can get a name and an address.
